April 9, 2018

This is Superintendent Bryan Frazier.  As you all know the teacher walkout has entered into week two.  Last week in my message I said, we would make decisions on schools closings day to day for this week.  I struggle with this because I realize the hardship it places on many parents in our community for this I apologize and will be reevaluating this daily.   But I believe at this point today, it is for the best , hoping the end will be close at hand. The situation changes so fast that to project what is or is not going to happen is virtually impossible.  With that said, Claremore Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, April 10th due to the teacher walkout.   Once again, Claremore Public Schools will be closed Tuesday April 10th.   I will notify you tomorrow regarding Wednesday and will do as soon as possible.  The food drop zones will be serving from 10:30am - 1:00pm during these times.  If you do not know the location of the drop zones please check the district website or call the district office at 918.923.4200.

Thank you for your continued support of our teachers and Claremore Public Schools.

Have a great day.

Bryan Frazier

This is Superintendent Bryan Frazier.  First, I want to thank you for all the support exhibited this past week from our Claremore families and community.  The teacher’s walkout is still ongoing and due to this Claremore Public Schools will be out Monday April 9th.  Decisions regarding school closure from this point forward will be made day to day.   Thank you again for all you do.

Have a great day.

This is Superintendent Bryan Frazier.  There has been much legislative activity over the past week.  As we approach the deadline to the teacher walkout I want to give our patrons updated information and also let you know the plans for the week ahead.   There was historic legislation passed this week, however, there are still some details that are yet to be worked out and questions regarding some of the revenue funding that was repealed after the passage of the bills.  Due to these uncertainties the teacher walkout is still in effect.

In order for our parents and community members to plan for the week ahead the decision was made to suspend classes for all of next week.  Schools will be closed Monday April 2nd – Friday April 6th.  Our hope is that by notifying you now it will allow you to time to make the arrangements needed due to the school closure.   If there are legislative measures that address the areas of uncertainty we could resume class prior to the week’s end.  If this happens, we will notify you within 24 hours of school reconvening.

Since school will be closed Monday – Friday next week we have been working diligently with the Ministerial Alliance to ensure our students are fed during that time.  Operation Lunchbox will provide a lunch and a take home snack.  You may pick them up at the following locations:  Cedar Point, Claremore Nazarene, Destiny Life, Faith Baptist, First Baptist, First Christian, First United Methodist, Memorial Heights Baptist, St. Andrews United Methodist, and The Vessel from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM daily.

Addresses and contact information for these locations will be sent to the emails we have on file and posted on our web-site.

We appreciate the support you have shown public education. We will keep you updated as progress is made and information is available.
