The Potentially Gifted program is for Pre-K and Kindergarten students. Classroom teachers identify students for this program by completing a matrix of the following topics:
- Vocabulary
- Original Ideas
- Observation Skills
- Memory Skills
- Attention Span
- Sentence Structure
- Reasoning Skills
- Curiosity Level
- Leadership
Following completion of the survey, the GT teacher analyzes the data. Students that meet the minimum matrix requirement will be placed in the Potentially Gifted program. Potentially Gifted students receive enrichment through technology for 15 - 20 minutes per week. Students placed in the program during Pre-K will automatically be included as a Kindergarten student. All students in the program will automatically be test for the PEP program as first graders.
