POW

This last Friday the Zebras played in an old fashion slugfest against Bishop Kelly. It was a great game from start to finish, but the Zebras fell short in a nail-biter 36-33. Both teams scored 5 touchdowns, but a few mistakes were the difference in the end. It was not for a lack of effort, because the team definitely left all of their heart on that field. Games like this one are what make sports so great and keep people coming back to watch.

Last week we also had players who stood out and were named player of the week (POW). This week came down to these four. First, we had Breyon Dotson, JV-POW. Breyon is the tailback for the JV team and has had a great year carrying the ball for the Zebras. If he keeps getting better you will be seeing him on Friday nights in the near future. Next was Jaedon Shackleford, AKA ShackDaddy. Shack was named the defensive POW for his outstanding performance. Shack has been one of those kids that have worked hard and now in his senior year is getting his chance to show what he is all about. Third, we have the special teams POW Zane Hepler. Zane took over our kickoff duties a few weeks back and has done a great job for the Zebras. With his progress, Hepler will be kicking touchbacks on a regular basis. Last is the offensive POW and that went to Micah Teel. Teel is the big number 88 that you see carrying the ball and wondering why he isn't playing the offensive line. Teel  answered that question Friday night, rushing for over 200 yards and having 2 touchdowns.

The season continues this Friday against Rogers. It's a big one and the team needs your support. Hope to see you there on Friday.
