National Assistant Principals Week - Kenny Hindenburg

Dr. Kenny Hindenburg

Position: Claremore High School Assistant Principal
Career:  Started teaching in 2012 and began at CPS in 2013

Thank you to all of our assistant principals for their leadership and direction in educating our students! This week is National Asst. Principals Week and we are extremely proud of our dedicated school administrators and their work in creating safe and successful school cultures. These thoughtful leaders have been instrumental as we navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic, always putting students first.
Let’s get to know them a little better and join us in taking some time to thank our assistant principals for everything they do!

Who is a mentor or role model who inspired you & why?

I have had so many incredible mentors. However, I am still inspired by my dad. Regardless of circumstances, he worked hard for our family and was a steadfast role model in my life.

What legacy do you want to leave here at CHS?

Helping students grow and learn from their circumstances is a daily goal. The legacy I would like to leave is to always focus on what is best for our students.

Who has been the most influential teacher in your career and why?

As a graduate of Claremore Public Schools, this is a tough question! Mrs. Seidel instilled in me my love for reading. Mrs. Garroutte and Mrs. Steidley helped me learn how to think critically. There have been so many wonderful teachers that have made me who I am today!

What sets CPS apart from other schools?

I love that CPS has a small school feel with large school opportunities! We have so many programs that cater to a wide variety of interests.

Favorite memory at CHS?

While it may seem trivial, one of my favorite things is welcoming our students into the building each morning. Starting everyone's day off with a "Good morning!" always makes my day.

If you could tell the public anything about your job at CHS what would you want them to know?

When I tell people I am an assistant principal, I often get interesting responses. Many think that it entails disciplining students all day. However, that is a very small part of my day normally. I work with students on helping them achieve their goals and collaborate with teachers on improving their craft. I love my job!

Why did you choose CPS?  I wanted to help students and serve my community. I hope that throughout my career, I can help students by providing the best educational environment for them. Claremore is such a great community with great people. It has always been home to me and I believe that we have one of the very best schools!
