Claremore ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME

Claremore Announces the ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME 2020 & 2021 Recipients 

CPS will host a come & go for all Inductees and family members in the Zebra Dome from 5:00p - 6:15p on Friday, October 29, 2021.  The Inductees will be introduced and presented their plaque during halftime of the football game that evening.  The game starts at 7pm. 

This year's inductees are: 

Bob Blackburn - A 1958 graduate, played center and nose guard in football and was a 1957 Daily Oklahoman All-State Football Player.

Sheldon Blackman - A 1926 graduate, played halfback in football and was a 1925 and 1926 Daily Oklahoman All-State Football Player. In those two years, the Zebras were 17-5-1.

Everett Burd - A 1946 graduate, played forward in basketball started for four years and was a 1945 Daily Oklahoman All-State Basketball Player.

Don Bussey - A 1951 graduate, played halfback in football and was a 1950 Daily Oklahoman All-State Football player and also named a High School All-American in Football.

Larry Catherwood - A 1954 graduate, played tackle in football, his team was 9-1 in 1953, and he was named a Daily Oklahoman All-State Football player.

Alley Fry - A 1953 graduate who played halfback in football, was named to the Daily Oklahoman All-State Football Team.

Dewey "Buck" Johnson - A 1952 graduate, played tackle in football, was named to the Enid All-State Football Team in 1951, also served as the public address announcer for Zebra Football from 1965 until 1997.

Ronald Johnson - 	A 1952 graduate of Claremore Lincoln High School, played forward on Lincoln's 1952 State Champion Basketball team.

G.W. Luther - A 1951 graduate who played guard in football, started for four years and was named All-Conference in 1950.

Alonzo Rogers, JR - A 1952 graduate of Claremore Lincoln High School, played guard on Lincoln's 1952 State Champion Basketball Team.

Mike Tanner - A 1960 graduate who played halfback in football; his 1959 team was 11-1 when the Verdigris Valley Conference Champions were named the 1959 Daily Oklahoman All-State Football Team.

Layloid "Doodle" Woodson - A 1957 graduate who played quarterback in football and a three-year starter, led the team to a 9-1 finish in 1956.
