In Mrs. Gonzalez's English I class, students created masquerade masks to wear while reading Act I, Scene 5 of Romeo and Juliet, during the scene where Romeo and Juliet meet at the Capulet's party. This hands-on activity helped students engage with the play's themes of identity and disguise. Alongside reading, they watched various theater performances to see different interpretations and charted the acts and scenes to deepen their understanding of the play's structure and key moments. This approach combines creativity with analysis, enhancing their appreciation of the text.

In Animal Science, students got the chance to learn about the various methods used to administer injections to livestock and practice these skills. They gained valuable insights into how these techniques are essential for effective livestock management and overall animal health care. It was a hands-on learning opportunity that gave students a deeper understanding of the practical aspects of animal care. In addition, the class had fun designing and crafting their own unique brands out of clay. These custom-made brands will be used in a future project once they have dried, allowing the students to get creative while also exploring another important aspect of livestock management.

Our Graphic Design class had a blast bringing their creativity to life by creating caricatures of our amazing teachers! Students used their artistic skills to exaggerate unique features and personality traits, turning their teachers into fun, larger-than-life illustrations. It was a fantastic exercise in both creativity and technique, and the results were hilarious!

In the Introduction to Plant, Food, and Fiber class, students had the exciting opportunity to experience the science behind common dairy products by making ice cream and butter. Through this hands-on activity, they learned how a simple mixture of milk, sugar, and vanilla can transform into ice cream with a little shaking in a bag of ice. In addition, many students were amazed to discover how heavy cream could be turned into butter by shaking it in a mason jar. This activity not only demonstrated the fascinating processes behind dairy products but also provided a sweet and rewarding conclusion to the consumer products portion of the dairy unit.

Ms. Golbek's Environmental Science class is diving deep into a hands-on lesson that explores the interconnectedness of plants, water distribution, and seasonal changes. As part of the lesson, students took to the school grounds to collect fallen leaves, repurposing them for a creative and educational project. After gathering the leaves, students worked together to identify the different types and species, recalling key lessons about the structure and function of leaves. To give their findings a lasting impact, the students then applied their knowledge in an inventive way by transferring leaf impressions onto different pieces of clothing, turning nature into wearable art. This unique project not only reinforced their understanding of plant biology and ecology but also encouraged students to think about the real-world connections between environmental science and everyday life while also promoting sustainability.
