During the October regular meeting, the Claremore Public Schools Board of Education approved the district-recommended calendar for the 2026-27 school year. A committee of school representatives developed the calendar with input from teachers, administrators, and parents. Our team worked diligently to ensure it would optimize student learning while accommodating the needs of the families we serve.

Please keep the 2026-27 calendar dates in mind as you plan family vacations, appointments, and commitments. Student attendance is critical to academic success – every day matters.

When students are absent, they miss valuable instruction, peer collaboration, and daily learning that can't be fully replicated. We understand life happens, but whenever possible, please schedule trips and non-urgent appointments around the school calendar.

Thank you for prioritizing your child's attendance and education. When students are present and engaged, everyone succeeds.

Here are a few highlights from the 2026-27 calendar: 

First Day of School: August 20, 2026

Last Day of School (Students): May 26, 2027

Last Day of School (Teacher Checkout): May 27, 2027

Graduation: TBA

Early Release Days (PLC): The district will begin early Friday dismissals on August 28, 2026, to allow teachers more time to collaborate and explore student resources with their Professional Learning Community (PLC). They will continue every Friday through the end of the school year.

Professional Development Day (PD):  January 4, 2027.

On PD Days, our students will have a break from classes; however, our teachers will be on campus for training to continue growing their skills and knowledge to benefit students.

• Thanksgiving: November 23-27, 2026

• Winter Break: December 21, 2026 - January 4, 2027

• Elementary: Oct. 8 & 13, 2026, March 4 & 9, 2027

While we do not anticipate calendar changes, please know that the district will regularly communicate with families about any revisions or adjustments that may be required. If you have any questions about the calendar, you are welcome to contact your child’s school office.
