Volleyball season has come and gone but has not been forgotten. The 7th-12th grade teams had a great year and should stand very proud. The varsity team battled injuries and adversity for the entire 2022 season, but that did not stop them from reaching the regional finals and finishing the season ranked 9th in the state. The lady Zebras compiled a 23-18 record and many individual awards earned. We will start with Hannah Dorsey and Ella Irvin being awarded 1st team all-conference and Augustina Munoz and Claire Hardage being honored as 2nd team all-conference. Many of these girls were also selected to the all-tournament team at the tournaments they attended during the season.

Hannah Dorsey was also selected by the OCVA to be a member of the 2022 All-State Team. This accomplishment is an amazing accomplishment and is extremely hard to achieve. Hannah was a two-year starter at the setter position and will be hugely missed as she moves on to possibly play at the college level.

The last awards given were given by Coach Jackson the head coach and coach Baughman the head assistant coach. The first award is the Zebra Award which is given to one player from each grade that exemplifies what it means to be a Zebra on and off the court. The 7th-grade winner was Ella Hardage, 8th Emma Easton, 9th Ava Pettus, 10th Ella Ramsey, 11th Landry Price, and 12th grade was Nicky Parziale.

The next award was the MVP award which was awarded to one player from varsity, 7th, and 8th grade. The 7th grade MVP was Maise Stagner-Speer, the 8th was Grace Baughman, and the varsity was Hannah Dorsey. There was also an award given for the offensive MVP which was Ella Irvin, and a defensive MVP which was Elsa Rogers.

The last award that this team earned was the most important award that they earned this year. The team received the "Academic Achievement Award" for their hard work in the classrooms. Not only do these young ladies give it all on the court, but they also do the same in the classroom. They are the definition of student-athletes.

Let me be the first to say congratulations to all the girls for a great season, and I look forward to what the future holds for these great coaches and players.
