🎷 Our jazz band students got to spend time in clinic with Dr. Todd Hastings from Pittsburg State University! 🎶 Dr. Hastings shared insight, tips, and a whole lot of encouragement as students worked through their music and prepared for upcoming performances. What a great opportunity to learn from a pro and keep growing our sound! 🎺👏
🎶 The Room 701 Vocal Jazz Choir recently traveled to OKC to take part in the Southern Nazarene University Vocal Jazz Festival! They performed for other high school vocal jazz groups from across the state, got a taste of a professional recording session 🎧, and had the opportunity to work with the incredible Vijay Singh 🎤—composer, performer, and Professor of Music at Central Washington University. Such a great day of learning, collaboration, and music! 🎼✨

🎭🎶🎨 What a blast we had at our Fine Arts Pep Rally for our soon-to-be 6th graders! 🎉 Our Room 701 Vocal Jazz students kicked things off by greeting our 5th graders at the door with smiles and style, setting the tone for an afternoon full of positivity and fun! 🎤✨ Our high school theatre students had everyone laughing with improv games, the jazz band brought the energy, and Vocal Jazz took the stage for an awesome performance. 🎷🎶 Our visual arts students and teachers showed off incredible artwork and shared all the amazing creative opportunities ahead. And to top it all off—we got a surprise sneak peek at The Addams Family musical! 👀💀 We loved giving our 5th graders a taste of what’s to come in junior high Fine Arts—the fun is just getting started! 🎉
We had such a fun surprise at the PAC this week—one of our high school art classes stopped by to show off their latest masterpieces! These incredibly talented students amazed us with their creativity and skill, and we loved getting to see their work up close. We asked Bryce a few fun questions about his experience in the show so far: 🔹 Most memorable rehearsal moment? "To be honest, my favorite moment so far was the first time I got to see my costume 👀, getting to put it on, and wearing it to all subsequent rehearsals. An honorable mention goes to all the times I have sang alto or soprano notes 🎶 for my part too!" 🔹 Describe Uncle Fester in 3 words: "Peculiar, witty, and loving" 💡💀💜 🔹 What is one thing about your character that people may not realize? "Uncle Fester, within the realm of the musical, has the power to generate electricity ⚡, freeze time ⏳, generate weather 🌩️, wake the dead 🪦, and transcend his own reality, so he may potentially be the most powerful being in the Addams Family universe." 🔹 Which Addams Family character besides Uncle Fester do you relate to the most and why?
