This year’s engaging show, Stop Bully Squad, shared an important message about kindness, courage, and standing up for yourself — all through the magic of music and storytelling. 🎶💛 Thank you, Tulsa Opera, for bringing this experience to our students!

🎶 Music class was extra fun for Mrs. Desy’s 2nd graders as they got to try out the 🎵 tongue drum with Mr. W! 🥁✨ This one-of-a-kind instrument creates calming, melodic tones, and the students had a great time experimenting with rhythms and sounds. 🎼🎶 We love watching our young musicians explore new ways to make music! 🎵👏

Congratulations to the CHS Room 701 Jazz Choir and CHS Jazz Band, under the direction of Ruiel Doonkeen and T.J. Smith, for earning straight superior ratings at the Pittsburg State University Jazz Festival! 🎶🏆 Not only did our students shine on stage, but they also had the incredible opportunity to attend an evening concert by the Grammy-winning group The Yellowjackets! After the show, they took part in a meet-and-greet, getting CDs signed and asking the pros about their careers in music and the equipment they use. An unforgettable experience for our talented musicians! 🎷✨
🖼️✨ Optical illusions in the making! ✨🎨 4th graders in Mr. McClurg’s art class have been putting their creativity to the test with optical illusion artwork! Using alcohol-based markers for bold colors and charcoal for shading, they’ve been learning how to create depth and movement on paper. 🎭🔍 It’s all about technique, perspective, and a little bit of artistic magic!🎨
Mr. Levesque is helping students sharpen their note recognition skills! 🎶 Using their listening skills, they identify each note played and carefully place it on a giant floor music staff. 🎼✨ This interactive approach makes learning both engaging and hands-on, helping students build a strong foundation in music!
