Parents/Guardians,

Johnson O’Malley (JOM) is a federal program whose primary objective is to ensure that Tribal Citizens receive educational opportunities that would not otherwise be available through the public school system. JOM is a supplemental program that provides special services to JOM Students based on the needs of individual communities.

The Cherokee Nation Johnson O'Malley Program, or more commonly referred to as JOM, is designed to provide supplemental and/or operational support to public schools within the Cherokee Nation boundary that serve eligible JOM students from three years of age through 12th grade. The desired outcomes of this program are to increase student achievement levels and encourage the use of cultural enrichment initiatives within JOM programs in public schools.

The Claremore Indian Education Committee (IEC) will have a special meeting on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the CPS Enrollment Center. The meeting will be held to conduct the JOM Annual Election. Any parent/guardian of an eligible student may be nominated and elected to the IEC. To serve, a person must be the parent or guardian of a JOM-verified child. School board members, school employees, and their spouses cannot serve on the committee. Please contact the JOM Coordinator for additional information. Any parent, community member, or other interested party is welcome to attend the meeting.
