PARENTS INVITED TO JOIN IN ON THE PLC CONVERSATION

PARENTS INVITED TO JOIN IN ON THE PLC CONVERSATION

This next week (June 29 - July 1) 150 teachers from Claremore Public Schools will be attending a professional development workshop that can change the trajectory of education in our area. Over the past three years, CPS, in conjunction with the Gear Up Oklahoma Grant, sent 83 teachers to PLCs that Work Conference in other states. However, eighteen months ago, CPS began the journey to bring Solution Tree, a company committed to empowering educators to strategically raise student achievement, to Claremore. The increased technology and improved infrastructure provided by the #ZebraBond2019 have made this event possible for the district. Although the presenters will be in other states, they will be presenting "live" to our staff. Eight of the most influential presenters for Solution Tree will provide two and a half days of keynotes and 16 breakout sessions. The current administration will act as facilitators at the breakout sessions, and Solution Tree will have an associate present to work with our groups.

If you have ever asked what CPS teachers do on "Early Out Fridays," here is your chance to find out from the experts. CPS wants to partner with parents in this endeavor. Parents can be vital members of the school's learning community, and CPS wants to connect them to champion a rich and meaningful education for all students.

CPS invites all parents to join the Parents as Partners conversation on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at 7:00 pm:  https://solutiontree.zoom.us/j/95941441382

Maria Nielsen will discuss how a school works as a PLC, how PLCs differ from traditional schools, and what that means for your child. Participants will learn how teachers work in collaborative teams to ensure high learning levels for all students through a guaranteed and viable curriculum.

As parents themselves, they know it's a balancing act. This presentation will help parents acquire strategies for supporting a child's learning without doing the work. Learn the warning signs that a child is experiencing academic or social/emotional challenges - and how parents and the school can work collaboratively to overcome them.
