National Assistant Principals Week - Mary Bopp

Mrs. Mary Bopp

Position:  WRJH Assistant Principal

Career:  Started teaching career in 2008  and began at CPS in 2013.

Thank you to all of our assistant principals for their leadership and direction in educating our students! This week is National Asst. Principals Week and we are extremely proud of our dedicated school administrators and their work in creating safe and successful school cultures. These thoughtful leaders have been instrumental as we navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic, always putting students first.

Let’s get to know them a little better and join us in taking some time to thank our assistant principals for everything they do!

Who is a mentor or role model who inspired you & why?

Brian Young has been an incredible mentor to me.  He is an amazing boss who has truly helped me grow as an educator and person.  He is fair, honest, and hardworking, which are all attributes that I truly admire.

What legacy do you want to leave here at WRJH?

The most important thing to me is that students feel that I have treated them fairly and that I truly cared about them.

What sets WRJH apart from other schools?  WRJH has an amazing sense of community.  It is also a place where students and teachers strive to grow and improve themselves. Junior High is a tough age for students and we want them to feel safe and be successful.

Favorite memory at WRJH?

Playing students vs teachers kickball. Obviously, the teachers won :)

If you could tell the public anything about your job at WRJH what would you want them to know?

I would want people to know that WRJH has amazing teachers and students. Our teachers are extremely dedicated and work so hard to help students be successful.

 Why did you choose CPS?

I  chose CPS because I loved the sense of community in Claremore and I knew that would transfer into the schools.
