Our 5th graders in Mrs. Meeker’s class brought the three branches of government to life through hands-on role play! Students stepped into the roles of the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches as they practiced making laws, enforcing laws, and interpreting laws.
This engaging activity gave students a firsthand look at how our government works while building leadership, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
We love seeing our future leaders learning in action!
What began back in September with lessons on soil quality, cold stratification, and the importance of winter dormancy grew into a hands-on learning experience that lasted the entire school year. Students observed their chestnuts develop roots, transferred them to seed trays as they began to sprout, and eventually transplanted the young trees into larger containers this spring.
More than just a science project, this experience connected history, responsibility, patience, and perseverance. Students learned about the historical significance of chestnut trees, the science behind growing plants that last beyond a single season, and the powerful idea of nurturing something that can leave a lasting legacy for years to come.
We are proud of the dedication and care these students showed throughout the journey and can't wait to see how their chestnut trees continue to grow! Way to go Mr. Vest!

We would also like to recognize our Students of the Month for exhibiting optimism throughout the month of May, as well as celebrate our May birthdays! We are proud of the positive attitudes, encouragement, and joy our students bring to our school each day.
Finally, congratulations to our Running Club students! A special shoutout to Jude, Hadley, and Aaron for reaching an incredible 50 miles this season. We also had many students hit the 25 mile mark — what an amazing accomplishment!

Claremore Public Schools is offering a Native Summer Camp June 1–5 for current 3rd–5th grade Native American students who are JOM-approved and listed in Infinite Campus. Camp will run from 8 a.m. to noon each day, with limited space available on a first-come, first-served basis. The program is designed to provide engaging summer learning opportunities and support for eligible students.
