Last week, our 4th graders explored how weight and force affect movement. In the spirit of the Super Bowl, they conducted experiments using paper footballs! They tested three different flicking methods and then added a paper clip to see if that small change affected the distance the football traveled. Our 4th-graders have been learning about LEDs and circuits. They created cards using batteries and LEDs and discussed the importance of storing them safely, as batteries can be hazardous. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Ward’s 1st-grade class had a wonderful 100th Day of School celebration, complete with 100th Day Trail Mix! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

How Sick Is Too Sick For School? Tis the season in Oklahoma - sniffling, sneezing, coughing, headache, fever, tummy aches, nausea, etc. We miss our students when absent, but sometimes they need to recover at home; how do you make that decision? CPS encourages following the Oklahoma State Department of Health guidelines. These guidelines will help the child recover and protect against the spread of illnesses to other students and staff. Remember, students/staff should only return to school after being fever-free, vomiting or diarrhea-free for 24 hours without medication. The annual Claremont Kindergarten 100th Day Fashion Show was a huge success! Students walked the red carpet with smiles on their faces, showcasing their creative outfits adorned with feathers, stickers, clothespins, paper clips, letters, cereal, and beautiful gems. Over the weekend, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and predicted six more weeks of winter. In Mrs. Mitchell’s kindergarten class, the students spent last week studying Groundhogs. They learned about hibernation and shadows, complete with an adorable and delicious snack. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
