We are 100 DAYS SMARTER!
Can you believe that we have already made it through 100 days of school?
Kindergarten students can't! In fact, they even made shirts with 100 items to celebrate this momentous occasion - and had in-classroom fashion shows to show off their creations!
Aren't they so creative?

Check out our Students of the Month for January!
https://youtu.be/FiVJq6trqbo
The word of the month for January is Self-Discipline. Self-Discipline is the ability to choose and control ones actions. Students were chosen for their ability to exhibit self-discipline both in their classroom. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

3rd Graders play Fraction Human Bingo!
How to Play:
Students create a fraction by shading in a whole and writing the fraction on a blank piece of paper. Students sit in a grid and their fractions are called. Three in a row WINS!
Fractions are so important because they lay the groundwork for time, money, and measurement. They are so much fun to learn!

2nd graders are having a blast at recess when the weather allows, and they come up with all kinds of fun and entertaining games together while outside!
Here, they created their own Conga Line! Aren't they creative!?

We might have some future architects in Pre-K!
Students enjoy the opportunity to work on all kinds of skills during center time - including the skill of building!
Do your students still like to build?

On this #wellnesswednesday, we want to stress the importance of reading together as a family. Even if your child is old enough to read on their own, it is still important for them to be read aloud to.
Reading books aloud to children stimulates their imagination and expands their understanding of the world. It helps them develop language and listening skills and prepares them to understand the written word.
What are you reading together as a family? Tell us in the comments.

1st graders are growing so much in their writing abilities!
Did you know that journal writing gives students time to organize their thoughts to prepare appropriate responses? This gives students extra confidence in participating in all areas of the classroom.
Journaling also helps teachers learn more about their students!

YOU CAN CHANGE THE WORLD!
5th graders witnessed an environmental demonstration on how our waters can get so polluted, and what we can do to make a change.

Have you ever written a fictional narrative?
5th graders can say that they have! A fictional narrative is a made-up story and most novels and short stories are fictional narratives.
Our 5th grade students have been working on planning and writing a fictional narrative - do you have a 5th grader? Ask them if you can read their narrative!
