2nd grade students were eager to get back to the library to exchange their books!
Did you know, reading not only widens a child's vocabulary, but through reading, children develop empathy, build confidence, and expand their imagination. Reading impacts many facets of a child's development!

For 3rd graders, "the cold never bothered them anyway!"
Students are still enjoying outdoor recess - and will continue to do so until the weather no longer permits. Please remember to send your child to school in weather appropriate clothing, and don't forget to send a coat!

Mornings can be hard.
That's why, for this #wellnesswednesday, we want to give you 4 tips for starting your school day mornings with success.
#1. Organize school essentials the night before. Set everything your child needs out for the morning: school clothes, charged devices, etc.
#2. Set an earlier bed-time. Early to sleep, early to rise!
#3. Create a soothing down-time routine before bed. This might include a bath, a story, and snuggles before lights out.
#4. Reduce screen - time. Screen time has been known to make falling asleep harder, shorten attention spans, etc. Allow less screen time sets your child up for school day success!

4th graders work on XtraMath.
XtraMath is an online math fact fluency program that helps students develop quick recall and automaticity of their basic math facts. Math fact fluency is so important as students begin to learn more complex forms of math!

We are reminiscing on this cold Tuesday morning!
Before we left for our Holiday Break, Kindergarten students celebrated Polar Express Day - with PJ's, hot cocoa, popcorn, and of course the movie: The Polar Express!
As much fun as we had before our break, and as much fun as we know you had while we were out of school, we are so happy to be back in the building with our students!

Happy New Year from Claremore Public Schools. As we enter into a new year, we all seem to take time to reflect on our lives, habits, choices from the past and contemplate how they impact our future. This reflection can lead to new inspiration, goals, resolutions, or a new focus. Instead of adding to it, some consideration may lead to removing obstacles or habits from our lives. Either way, we are all looking for a positive change.
Whether you choose a resolution, a goal, a word - we'd love for you to share it with us on our FB page and maybe inspire others.
Remember: Our students return on Tuesday, January 4th.

Did you know that Christmas is different all over the world? Some countries celebrate Christmas in a VERY different way from how we celebrate in the United States.
3rd grade students in Mrs. Millsap's class took a trip to France to learn all about their holiday traditions. One thing they learned: France has a very yummy holiday cake called Buche De Noel!

WIN time gives students of all abilities the chance to grow to mastery in all areas of their schooling. It also gives students the ability to participate in activities that grow their confidence in other areas - like public speaking and performing.
Mrs. Ramsey's WIN group presented a Readers Theater to the whole of 2nd grade. A Readers Theater is a strategy that combines reading practice and performance. Readers theaters can enhance reading skills and confidence and develop fluency!
