Kindergarten students got to share in the fun of coding this week! Students were so excited to be able to learn how to get their mice to the cheese. It's been so much fun for both Mrs. Troyer and our students to be able to have more STEM activities in the library!

Meet Mrs. Evans.
Mrs. Evans is our wonderful paraprofessional in our Pre-K room. Mrs. Evans is not only kind and loving, she also assists in the instruction and implementation of developmentally appropriate educational opportunities for our littlest Zebras.
We are so thankful to have her on our team! Give Mrs. Evans a shout out in the comments!

Our PTO Meeting for today has been rescheduled for Monday, January 30th at 3:15.

Mrs. Harrison's 4th grade students expanded their knowledge of area and perimeter through a STEM activity provided by one of our amazing volunteers, Mrs. Clemons. Students were instructed to see if they could build the tallest structure possible with spaghetti noodles and marshmallows.
The catch: they could only use pieces under 6" long and had to build around a 10"X14" piece of paper.
They had a blast!

Pre-K students listened to Elmer the Elephant, a story about an Elephant that is a patchwork of color. He is different than the rest of the herd, and struggles with his differences.
Throughout the story, he learns that its OK to be different! Our differences are what make us unique and special. After the story, students talked about their differences and what makes them special, and then colored their own Elmer the Elephant.
