Friendship is one of the sweetest gifts of childhood.

It’s such a beautiful thing to see our students watching the life cycle - seeing an egg go from egg to chicken - watching life unfold before their eyes.

We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Shrum to Claremont!
Position: Kindergarten
"I graduated from NSU BA with a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education in 2011 and began as a 2nd grade teacher and high school cheer coach for my first year in education. Since then I have taught 4 years of pre-kindergarten, 2 years of kindergarten and 1 year in a Life skills SPED classroom teaching students ranging from 2nd grade to 5th grade. Overall, with the exception of taking a few years off to have babies and tutor students as a side hustle, I have been in education for 10 years.
What are you most excited about this year?
"This year I am most excited about becoming a member of the Claremont team and getting back into the world of education. I love teaching. It has always been my passion and I am so excited to have a classroom full of new little minds to mold this year."
What brought you to Claremont?
"A few years ago I was introduced to principal Randa Fay by a lifelong friend and teacher that I had the pleasure of teaching with for 6 years. She had moved to Claremont and was very excited to be a part of the team so she had to try to recruit me. Since then every year we’ve made contact to see if it was a good fit for me and it just so happened that this year was the perfect one! I can’t wait to become a Claremont Zebra!"

🏈🎥 Little Zebra Football Camp Highlight Video - https://youtu.be/AyU_58KwSjw
Over 140 1st - 6th graders were building skills, a love of the sport, and the Zebra legacy on historic Lantow Field this week. Players participated in non-contact drills, made friends, and made memories they will carry with them through high school when they complete their final walk across a stage on that very same field.

Pictured is Mr. Andy Hogan and Mrs. Randa Fay at the CHS Graduation of the Class of 2022. Not only is Mr. Hogan a former principal of Claremont Elementary but Mr. Hogan was Mrs. Fay's elementary principal at Claremont!
“Graduation is a time of reflection, filled with pride and accomplishment, not only by the graduates and their families, but also by every educator who has ever been a part of their development. It is a celebratory time for the entire village! Something we strive to do at Claremont is to make every single day count. We stay fervently focused on creating a solid, strong foundation, and then on this special day we praise the hard work and accomplishments of those young adults who have become a part of our hearts forever."
“Life affords no greater responsibility, no greater privilege, than the raising of the next generation.”

Some of our 5th grade boys made a project of cleaning and repairing parts of the playground during this school year. It was so awesome to see them working to make the playground a better place for our younger students.
