🎨 Drawing with a Twist! 🎨
Mrs. Smith’s WRJH art students tried something a little different in class recently… drawing with a string! ✏️
Students worked together in groups, each holding a section of the string with a pencil attached. By carefully moving and working as a team, they created drawings on the paper in the center of the table.
The results were creative, unexpected, and completely one-of-a-kind! We love seeing our Zebras think outside the box and create art in new ways! 🎨

CHS saxophone students had the opportunity to attend a saxophone masterclass hosted by the NSU Jazz Studies program, featuring guest saxophonist Nathan Graybeal, also known as Saxologic!
Students picked up some great tips and techniques, learned more about the art of jazz saxophone, and enjoyed hearing some fantastic jazz along the way. What a great opportunity for our student musicians to learn from and be inspired by a talented jazz artist!

Creativity takes flight in Art 1!
Art 1 students kicked off the school year with their first clay project: imaginative dragon eye sculptures! Students transformed simple lumps of clay into three-dimensional mythical creature eyes while exploring texture, craftsmanship, and creative design.
Projects like these are a perfect reminder of how the arts transform learning. Through creativity and hands-on experiences, students are encouraged to imagine, problem-solve, take risks, and bring their unique ideas to life.
As we celebrate National Arts in Education Week, we’re proud to see our students discovering that there are no limits to what they can create! 🎨

September 25th- yes, that's the date for this year's homecoming festivities. This week we added dress-up days, homecoming reps, and more!
We couldn’t be more proud of Kellie Stuard! ❤️
Last spring, as a junior, Kellie submitted her artwork, “Eyes Don’t Lie,” to the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and earned a Silver Key for her incredible work. Now, as a senior, Kellie has finally received her official award in the mail and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this incredible achievement with her! 🏅
With more than 250,000 pieces of artwork submitted across categories including photography, mixed media, sculpture, and painting, Kellie’s work stood out not only for its technical skill, but for the story and emotion she brought to her piece.
“Eyes Don’t Lie” is currently on display at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Arkansas.
And this is just one of many accomplishments for Kellie, who has also earned recognition through Young Talent in Oklahoma, the Sutton Wildlife Art Competition, and the Young People’s Art Exhibit.
Kellie's talent, creativity, and dedication have already taken her to incredible places, and we can’t wait to see what she accomplishes during your senior year and beyond!🦓

School may have just started last week, but the Zebra Marching Band has been in full swing for nearly a month! They’ve been working hard to prepare their fall show for contest season, from marching fundamentals and new music to perfecting the fight song to cheer on our Claremore Zebra Football team. 🎶🏈
All the pieces are starting to fall into place, and we can’t wait for you to see their hard work in action!
On Friday, August 28, you can catch the band in the stands cheering on our Zebras as we travel to Sallisaw for a fun night under the lights!
Then, on September 4, the band takes the field at our very own Lantow Field for the first home game of the season!

This summer, Claremore High School senior Shayne Schornick had the incredible opportunity to attend the 50th Annual Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute (OSAI) at Quartz Mountain State Park after being selected through a highly competitive application process.
During the prestigious two-week program, Shayne joined some of Oklahoma's most talented young artists to strengthen artistic skills, learn from accomplished instructors, and collaborate with peers from across the state.
We're so proud of Shayne for representing Claremore Public Schools with creativity, dedication, and excellence. A special thank you to Ms. Hoffer for investing in our students and helping inspire opportunities like this!

Every rehearsal, every rep, and every routine is laying the foundation for what's to come this fall.
The excitement doesn't stop there, Marching Band Camp is now underway! As the rest of the band joins in, all the pieces will begin coming together to create the performances you've been waiting to see.

Our junior high campers got an exciting behind-the-scenes look at the world of theatre during this year's Theatre Camp! Under the direction of Mrs. Ketterling, students participated in acting games and improvisation exercises that challenged them to think creatively, solve problems, collaborate with others, and perform with confidence.
Campers also had the opportunity to tour the Robson Performing Arts Center, giving them a firsthand look at everything that goes into bringing a production to life. From what happens on stage to all the work behind the scenes, students discovered that theatre is truly a team effort.
