Fine Arts Stays WINNING!

This summer, four of our incredibly talented students will attend the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain, a prestigious, immersive 2-week residential academy designed for Oklahoma’s most advanced high school artists.

This opportunity doesn’t happen by chance. It’s the result of years of dedication, growth, and hard work, and we couldn’t be more proud of these students for earning their place. Even more impressive, they’ve each received full-ride scholarships to attend.

While there, they’ll train in their chosen artistic disciplines alongside more than 230 top student artists from across the state, learning from professional, award-winning instructors and continuing to refine their craft.

Please join us in congratulating:
Paige Brower (12th grade)
Crow Bratt (12th grade)
Shayne Schornick (11th grade)
Izabella Contino (11th grade)

Your commitment to your art shows, and this achievement is so well deserved. We can’t wait to see all that you accomplish this summer and beyond! 🦓✨

Room 701 Vocal Jazz had an incredible experience at Southern Nazarene University’s Vocal Jazz Festival!

After performing for two expert vocal clinicians, the group took part in an engaging 30-minute workshop focused on refining their musical performance and elevating their sound.

To top it off, students stepped into a professional recording studio to record one of their standout selections. This exciting opportunity means Room 701 will be featured on a compilation playlist alongside other talented schools from the festival!

What an unforgettable day of growth, music, and excellence!

This week in Ms. Hoffer’s Art I class, students took on a unique and exciting challenge, creating drawings with pencils attached to long sticks instead of holding them in their hands like usual!

By adding physical distance between the artist and the paper, students had to let go of control. Every line became less about precision and more about movement, gesture, and trusting the process.

At first, the activity felt a little awkward and even frustrating, but that was the point! When perfection isn’t possible, creativity takes over. Students loosened up, took risks, and started to fully embraced the “mess.” 🎨✨

We had the privilege of hosting several schools, from 3A to 6A districts, last week for the Claremore Jazz Festival, and it was an incredible day of music and collaboration.

This event gave jazz bands the opportunity to perform for judges and receive valuable feedback as they prepare for State; an important step in their growth as musicians.

A big thank you to the staff at the Robson Performing Arts Center for helping make the event run smoothly, to our amazing Claremore jazz students who assisted with check-ins and announcements, and to our judges for sharing their time, expertise, and valuable feedback with every group.

Now it’s our turn! Our students will take the stage this week at the Oologah Jazz Festival, and we can’t wait to see them shine! 🦓🎷✨

Join us in celebrating Claremore High School junior Michael Rogers, who has qualified for the Speech and Debate State Competition in Monologue during just his second year in the program!

In this event, Michael performs both a comedic and a dramatic piece, complete with an original introduction, all within a six-minute time limit using only a chair and his talent.

Michael has already made his mark on the stage this year, performing as "Badger" in Wind in the Willows, "Mr. Wilson" in Harvey, and currently rehearsing as "Coach" in Footloose: The Musical. His dedication to performance doesn’t stop there. Next year, he’ll step into a leadership role as co-president of the Improv Club.

We are incredibly proud of Michael’s hard work, growth, and commitment to his craft. Best of luck at State, we’ll be cheering you on! 🦓👏

Mr. Levesque’s music class at Westside is learning all about tempo. Students had a great time exploring how music can change speed and feeling by acting out different tempos through movement and instruments.

In class, students experienced largo moderato, a slower and more moderate tempo that creates a calm, steady feeling in music. They used slow movements and gentle playing on instruments to match the relaxed pace of this tempo.

They also explored presto, a very fast tempo that brings excitement and energy to a piece of music. Students used quick movements and lively instrument playing to show just how fast and energetic presto can be.

By physically acting out these tempos and hearing them in music, students are learning how tempo affects the mood and character of a piece while having fun bringing music to life in the classroom. 🎵

Tulsa Opera’s Raise Your Voice Tour made a stop at the Robson Performing Arts Center!

Elementary students from across the district were treated to a special performance by Tulsa Opera during this year’s Raise Your Voice tour. This year’s show, The Monkey and Francine, followed a monkey prince and his little sister, Francine, as they journeyed to the kingdom of the tigers.

With exciting characters and engaging music throughout, students loved experiencing the magic of opera right here at home! 🎶✨

The future of Zebra Fine Arts is HERE!

This morning, our Fine Arts Department brought the energy with a Recruitment Rally for our upcoming 6th graders!

5th graders from across the district packed the Robson PAC to get a firsthand look at everything Zebra Fine Arts has to offer. From incredible performances by WRJH and CHS Show Choir, Jazz Choir, Drama, Improv, and Jazz Band to a showcase of amazing Art, students got a full taste of the talent, passion, and excitement waiting for them.

They also heard from current Fine Arts students who shared how these programs have shaped their confidence, friendships, and overall high school experience. The message was clear;, Fine Arts is more than a class… it’s a community.

We are beyond excited to welcome the next generation of performers, artists, and creators. If today was any sign, the future is bright and we can’t wait for these students to be part of something truly unforgettable. 🦓✨

National Silver Medalist, Kellie Stuard — we like the sound of that! ✨🎨

Join us in celebrating Claremore High School’s Kellie Stuard, who earned a National Silver Medal at the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, one of the most prestigious recognitions for student artists in the country.

After first earning a Gold Key at the state level, Kellie advanced to nationals, where her work stood out among over 300,000 entries. Her piece, “Eyes Don’t Lie,” delivers a powerful message about deceit and the emotions it can bring to the surface—showcasing both technical skill and meaningful storytelling.

This achievement is a tremendous honor for Zebra Fine Arts and all of Claremore Public Schools. It reflects the talent, dedication, and creativity of our students, as well as the support and guidance from our incredible educators.

We are beyond proud of Kellie. Her work is making an impact on the national stage, and this is only the beginning!

Help us congratulate Kellie on this outstanding accomplishment! 🦓✨

🎨🎶🎭 As March comes to an end, we hope you’ve enjoyed getting a glimpse into everything Claremore Public Schools has to offer in the Fine Arts!

From kindergarten through 12th grade, our students are given countless opportunities to explore their creativity and find their passion. Elementary art and music classes build a strong foundation, sparking imagination and introducing essential skills. At the junior high level, students begin to refine their talents and dive deeper into what they love. By the time they reach CHS, they’re ready to shine—both in and beyond the classroom—as they continue to grow and perfect their craft.

This month, we proudly celebrated Youth Art Month, Music in Our Schools Month, and Theatre in Our Schools Month. We are so grateful for our incredible teachers who inspire, guide, and encourage our students every day, and for the students who bring creativity, dedication, and energy into every performance, rehearsal, and project.

Thank you for celebrating the arts with us—there’s so much to be proud of in Claremore!
