✨Staff Spotlight✨ My name is Kimberly Gillispie. I grew up in McAlester, Oklahoma, where I graduated from high school. After high school, I attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. This school year will be my 15th year teaching. I love working with young people in a career where I know I am making a difference. The rock cycle describes transitions through geologic time among the three main rock types: sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous. Students in Mrs. Simpson's class replicated the rock cycle using starburst candy! First, they cut the starburst into pieces to use as sediments, then stuck them together to act as the Sedimentary rock. After this, they squished them together to form a Metamorphic rock. The last step is to heat it slightly using a microwave to turn the Metamorphic rock into Magma. Once it cools, they had an Igneous rock! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

What is music theory? Music theory is the study of the practices and possibilities of music. Our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Choir students worked on music theory project presentations. They learned about music notation, created a diagram presentation, and taught the music notation lesson to the class! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

I have been at WRJH for three years, one year as a para and this is my second year teaching computers. This year was my first year coaching softball for WRJH. Claremore Public Schools will be closed due to inclimate weather tomorrow, Monday, December 14th. This is a SNOW DAY and not a Distance Learning Day.
