Mrs. Bacon's EL class are learning American traditions at Christmas time - and explaining measurements and ingredients. They also got to decorate them, which was exciting to them! This was the first time for them to decorate Christmas cookies! And they tasted pretty good, too! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

When a student needs help, a teacher is there. One of our office aides was having trouble with his Algebra 1, and Mrs. Province was on her plan. She stopped when she saw him having trouble, sat with him, and helped him with his work. Mrs. Province is one of our 7th grade teachers. The student is an 8th grader, and not in her class. "Teachers do more than teach, and their impact extends far beyond the classroom. As a teacher, you are more than just an educator: you are a mentor, a confidant and a friend. One of the most common reasons to become a teacher is to make a difference in the lives of as many students as you can." - Taylor Mali, a renowned poet, education advocate and former teacher. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. James' class did another STEM Challenge today where the objective was to build the longest paper chain garland. Students were only allowed to have a pair of scissors, 2 feet of tape, and 1 piece of construction paper as their materials. It was up to them on how to use it to make the chain. After creating the chain, students then measured their garland and made a bar graph with the data. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

The winter choir concert was held at the PAC Tuesday evening, where our WRJH choir sang several seasonal songs as a combined choir and as separate individual age levels. We celebrated the many 6th grade students who made Circle The State With Song (honor choir festival occurring in February), students who made All District Honor Choir (8 JH students made NCDA All District Honor Choir), and cheered on the two students who made it to second round All State auditions. We also recognized Lacey Arthur for making All State Honor Choir. The evening was fun and festive and the students glowed with the great accomplishment of performing songs on which they've worked hard all semester to provide a quality concert for the audience and to exhibit positive performance and audience member etiquette according to Oklahoma Academic Standards. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
