Zebra Families,
At Claremore Public Schools (CPS), we prioritize the safety and well-being of our students above all else. We take all potential threats seriously and investigate them thoroughly. Today, a screen capture of a Snapchat photo of a possible threat was reported at WRJH. The administration immediately notified the Claremore Police Department (CPD) concerning a social media post. We are relieved to report that the CPD found no evidence of a threat toward our school. Nevertheless, in an abundance of caution, the CPD will increase its presence on our campus and provide additional security at WRJH to help give our families peace of mind. We want to reassure our students, families, and community that we will continue doing everything possible to maintain a safe learning environment for all.
Thank you to the Claremore Police Department for their swift actions.
We also want to encourage everyone to take personal responsibility for their safety and the safety of others. If you hear or see anything that could threaten our students' safety, please report it immediately through the appropriate channels. We have a See Something Say Something initiative through our Stop-It App and encourage everyone to use it.

Welcome to WILL ROGERS JUNIOR HIGH! What exciting mornings! Elementary students from Catalayah, Claremont, Roosa and Westside were welcomed in by our CHS band and the welcoming committee! The students learned all about life at WRJH, toured the 6th grade wing, and even got to join in on the Zebra Fight Song with the Claremore Zebra!
We can't wait to see these students join us in the fall!

After exploring the world of sound waves in class, students put their knowledge to the test in a unique lab experience. Mr. Gregg brought his guitar to show the behaviors of sound waves on a guitar's string. This class activity not only showed them sound wave properties, but also showed them the connection between science and music!

It's National Assistant Principal's Week and we have TWO of the very best! We celebrate them every day, but today is Mrs. Luginbill's DAY!
Mrs. Luginbill's why- "I chose to be an assistant principal to help students be the best version of themselves and see the great things they are capable of doing!"

In Mrs. Highley's 8th grade class, students have been immersing themselves in the world of poetry, exploring a variety of poetic forms and unleashing their creativity through their own original poetry. They are writing haikus, tankas, cinquains, and free verse poetry. For the free verse poetry, students tried to focus on a specific emotion and then create a poem from words on a page from a book. Once the students created their poem, they then created either a design or artwork that was incorporated into the blackout poetry.
As they continue their literary journey, we can't wait to see what other poetic gems they'll create and share with us!
