How do you find the least common multiple? Ask one of Mr. Willard's 6th grade Math students! Classes worked on least common multiples by working together in groups. When students work as a team, they learn to collaborate and compromise toward one goal- or answer. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

🏈Players of the Week 🏈 ►►POTW◄◄ Tristan Peters- is one of the best leaders in the entire 7th grade leading the way in the classroom as well as the field! He made key plays in the secondary on defense and had multiple key runs on the offensive end. Caden Hester-In the Revolutionary War there were soldiers called Minutemen. The Minutemen had to be ready at minutes notice to go to war never knowing when their names would get called. Caden had that moment on Thursday, getting his number called on offense and scoring his first touchdown!! Caden is also a fantastic kicker for the Zebras making multiple extra points throughout the night! Way to go, guys! We are so proud of you! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Come FLY with me!✈ Mrs. Boyd's classes are doing a lab with paper airplanes! They are testing if the weight of the paper affects how far the paper airplane will fly. By doing this, they are using measuring skills, math skills, and collecting data. How far did the farthest go? Was it the lightest? #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

How's your memory? In Mrs. Mercer's class this week, students learned about nonfiction text structures. Students engaged their brains and bodies by cutting, sorting, and gluing features of each text structure to a page with their partners. Here’s the fun part... students were not allowed to look in their notes for the first 8 minutes of the activity! They had to work from memory first, then go back and check using their notebooks. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Sanders has been a model of consistency from his snaps to his work in the classroom! •All Around the World• 7th grade geography students in Mrs. Stout's class created posters about physical features in Europe. Then, they used the posters created by their classmates to learn about all of the different features Europe has to offer. This allows students to take ownership of their learning and collaborate to help each other master the content. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Boyd's FUTURE scientists are learning how to ask good questions, making observations, inferences and collecting quantitative and qualitative data and using the tools of the trade. We are sure to have some scientists in our Zebra family! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mystery Bag Dramatics! Mrs. Prine's classes worked in groups to plan, write, and act out skits. They were given mystery bags with props and they had to use everything in the bag. This activity focused on working collaboratively and coming up with a narrative that had a beginning, middle, and end. It was so much fun to see what they came up with! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Drew Cummings is a history teacher at Claremore High School. He is thrilled to share a travel opportunity for students scheduled for June 2024.
