3.16.20 l 2:45 PM
State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister has called an emergency meeting of the State Board of Education for 4 p.m, today. We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate over the next few days, on our plan to support families. Please be patient, as we all navigate through this unprecedented time together.
Updates will be posted on our website at: https://www.claremore.k12.ok.us/o/cps/page/health-services--460

3.15.20 l 5:00 PM
Again we are trying not to make long term decisions when information is changing rapidly and/or not available. We will attempt to give our families lead time on any postponements or cancellations, when possible.
Based on the current level of community transmission, we are taking measures to be back in school on March 23. The status could change day-to-day. If the community transmission level rises, steps will be taken to become more restrictive.
Community transmission levels are determined by the CDC based upon confirmed positive tests. As the testing process becomes more available and widely administered, the numbers will likely increase. The quantity and location of the concentrations of positive results determine transmission levels. These levels will be a factor in making our decisions. Therefore, decisions on events that are weeks or even months away cannot be determined at this time.
We are attempting to mitigate this virus and do our part. Please reference the links provided below to the CDC to guide you and your family in your personal decisions.
As things change, we will be timely with our communication and will use email, the Claremore Public Schools app, and our website to publish new developments with our plan.
Thank you for your support and understanding during this unprecedented time.

3.14.20 l 7:00 PM
Claremore Public Schools will be using spring break to deep clean and thoroughly disinfect all of our buildings. Only essential central office administration, construction, and cleaning crews will be allowed on-site during spring break.
This time also allows for epidemical evaluation and contact tracing by health agencies. The data provided by the CDC will give us more information to make decisions in the coming days and weeks.
Our team will meet at the end of this next week regarding events beginning Monday, March 23.

IT'S SPRING BREAK! Read a book, play a board game, have a family meal - what memory will you make this week?

🏃 Claremore Crayon Run to Benefit All Claremore Public Schools This Year 🏃
The Claremore Public Schools Foundation is bringing the Claremore Crayon Run back to Claremore Lake, Saturday, April 25, 2020. Fun Run and 5K registration includes race (timed in 5K), t-shirt, finisher medal, and end of race color celebration! Sound familiar? Claremont Elementary has been putting on the Crayon Run for the past six years.
"Claremont approached the foundation with the idea to improve the event by having it benefit all of CPS schools, including Claremont," Randa Fay, Claremont Principal. "It is such a successful yet labor intensive event. Having the foundation join forces to make this event bigger and better just makes sense. "
Stay tuned for more information by following CPSF on Facebook, www.facebook.com/ClaremorePublicSchoolsFoundation/, or visiting the CPSF website, http://www.claremorepublicschoolsfoundation.org/, or by emailing or calling the CPSF office at foundation@claremore.k12.ok.us or 918-923-4308.
