☀️ Summer Social☀️
We had our first summer social and it was just what we needed — sunshine, smiles, and catching up with our amazing staff friends! 💬💛
Nothing better than a mid-summer meet-up to recharge and reconnect. We hope everyone is soaking up the season and enjoying a well-deserved break! 🌴🍉

Most Likely Monday REVEAL!
Did you guess… Mrs. Meyers?!? 🎤🎶
If so, you’re absolutely right!
After a series of tornadoes, she found herself front and center at Blake Shelton’s Healing in the Heartland benefit concert—and even made it on TV a few times thanks to those front row seats! 😂 Nothing like a little country music and national airtime to make a memory!
Attached is a few of her favorite pic, including one from when she opened for him at Winstar!!

Drone Day Fun with NJROTC!
On May 13th, the Frank Mobra Fieldhouse was buzzing—literally! Ms. Henry and her STEM students joined forces with NJROTC cadets for an exciting Drone Day packed with flight, fun, and hands-on STEM learning.
Students from Catalayah, Claremont, Roosa, Westside, and Will Rogers Junior High explored the science of flight as cadets led drone instruction focused on safety, control, and real-world STEM applications.
After a morning full of flying and discovery, teachers jumped in for some friendly drone racing, bringing the energy and the laughs!
To top off the day, Ms. Henry treated her students to ice cream and playtime at Gazebo Park—the perfect way to celebrate a job well done!
We’re proud to bring STEM to life and spark curiosity in our future innovators.

Most Likely to Be at a Concert!
“Music is in my blood—I never had a chance! Traveling for shows is my favorite hobby… new city + live music = my happy place. I’ve even been spotted on stage before! I’m always down for a concert, but fair warning: I’m a ticket snob and will absolutely pay for great seats.
(Pictured: Blue October @ Tulsa Theater—Justin Furstenfeld’s voice? 😘🤌🏼 Chef’s kiss!)”

🎉 It’s NATIONAL MASCOT DAY, and we’re celebrating one of the rarest mascots in the country — the CLAREMORE ZEBRAS! 🦓❤️🤍
There are only four high schools in the entire United States with a zebra mascot — and Claremore is the only one in Oklahoma! That’s right — we’re part of an elite herd! 🦓
The Zebra name was born in the 1920s, when Claremore’s football team took the field in brand-new striped jerseys. A spectator shouted, “They look like a bunch of zebras!” — and the name stuck!
Fun fact: those first striped uniforms were actually purple and gold! But in 1930, during the Great Depression, Superintendent Homer C. Heard chose a more affordable combo: red shirts and white khaki pants. That budget-friendly decision gave us our forever school colors — RED and WHITE! 🔴⚪
While other schools have Tigers, Cardinals, and Eagles… Claremore proudly stands out with STRIPES. 🦓
It’s a GREAT day to be a ZEBRA!

Last month, we honored three incredible women who are closing one chapter and beginning a beautiful new one. Mrs. Coffey, Mrs. M, and Ms. Phyllis were celebrated with a heartfelt retirement reception after school, surrounded by friends, laughter, and lots of love.
Together, these amazing ladies have devoted over 75 years to education—touching hearts, shaping young minds, and making a lasting difference in the lives of so many students.
Retirement from education isn’t just the end of a career—it’s the celebration of a lifetime of love, learning, and legacy.
We are so thankful for the passion, patience, and dedication each of these women brought to our school. You will be deeply missed, but your impact will be felt for years to come.
Happy Retirement, Mrs. Coffey, Mrs. M, and Ms. Phyllis!

Senior Walk 2025 🖤🤍❤️
One of our favorite traditions each year — the Senior Walk — is always a sweet and emotional one! 🎓 Our Catalayah Zebras came back to walk the halls one last time, and we loved cheering them on and celebrating all they’ve accomplished.
It’s so special to see those familiar faces return, a little taller and ready to take on the world. 💫 Whether they’re heading to college, careers, or other adventures, we are so proud of each and every one of them.
Once a Zebra, always a Zebra! 🦓
Good luck, Class of 2025 — the best is yet to come!

Track & Field Day…with a Twist!
Track and Field Day looked a little different this year thanks to some rainy weather, but that didn’t stop the fun! ☔️🏃♀️🎉
Instead of racing on the track, we brought the excitement indoors with some brand-new stations that were a total hit! From karaoke that brought out our inner rockstars, to bingo battles, face painting fun, and hilarious improv games — the energy was off the charts! 🎤🎨😂
It may have been a soggy day outside, but inside we made memories, laughed hard, and had an absolute blast! Thanks to everyone who helped make our rainy day Track & Field a total win!

Dear Parents, Teachers, and Staff,
Our school flowerbeds are in need of a little TLC! We’ve got quite a few weeds and dead plants that need clearing out, and we’re hoping to gather some helping hands to get the job done.
If you have any gardening tools (like gloves, rakes, trowels, or weeders) and can spare an hour of your time, we’d greatly appreciate your help. You’ll see where others have already pitched in—just pick up where they left off!
This is a great opportunity to beautify our campus and show some school spirit. As they say, many hands make light work!
