Thankful Thursday! Today, we’re giving a big shoutout to our incredible bus drivers! 🚍✨ They’re up early, working tirelessly to keep our kids safe and ensure they get to and from school without a hitch. These amazing people are often the first and last smile our students see each day, bringing positivity from sunrise to sunset. Our drivers do so much more than drive — they’re also there to support school experiences, like field trips and join in on our dress up day and even make appearances in some of our TikTok's!!! A special thanks to Brandon and Kevin, our transportation directors, for their dedication to keeping everything running smoothly. We’re so grateful to have the best transportation crew around! Mr. Winiecke’s music classes have been diving into the world of the xylophone! Did you know this percussion instrument has roots dating back to ancient Africa and Asia? Its name comes from the Greek words “xylon” (wood) and “phone” (sound), meaning “wood sound”. Xylophones are not just fun to play—they help develop rhythm, coordination, and even math skills as students explore patterns and pitches. Our little musicians are learning how to make this timeless instrument come to life! 🎵👏 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Our 5th graders have been hard at work preparing for JA BizTown for months, learning about financial literacy, teamwork, and business operations. Yesterday, they had job interviews with amazing community leaders—it was such a fun experience! Today, they heard mayoral speeches and held an election. Congratulations to Jett, our newly elected BizTown Mayor!!!

🌍💖 It’s World Kindness Day! 💖🌍 Today, our talented students are spreading joy in a creative way by decorating rocks, which will be hidden all around town for others to discover. The goal? Big shoutout to our first Bingo Night winner to cash in their prize—Coach Eli! Yesterday, he stepped into the spotlight as PE Teacher for the Day, and wow, did he crush it! 🎉 Coach Eli led the charge, explaining games, demonstrating skills, and keeping everyone moving and grooving. Coach Hughes even hooked him up with an official whistle—every PE teacher’s must-have! 🔔💪 Whether it was warming up the class, running relay races, or blowing that whistle like a pro, Coach Eli had a blast and did an outstanding job keeping our students active and engaged. 🎶 Kindergarten Rocks Out with Stephen Fite! 🎶 Our kindergarten classes had an amazing time at the Stephen Fite concert at the PAC! This interactive, high-energy show wasn’t just fun—it was a musical learning adventure! Stephen’s award-winning tunes kept our kiddos moving, grooving, and learning how music helps the brain soak up information. From rock to reggae, every beat had them hooked! 🎤💃 After the concert, the fun continued with a picnic at the park—perfect weather, happy kids, and memories to last a lifetime. 🌞What a day! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

After yesterday’s Veterans Day Assembly, these awesome 5th graders volunteered to help put up chairs after Rise and Shine—no one even had to ask! They showed what it means to live by our Great Expectations: “Help one another whenever possible”. We’re so proud of our students for their kindness and leadership.
