It's Earth Day!!!! Mrs. Ward's class took a nature walk this week! The students were instructed to find 3 types of vegetation and 3 animals and take pictures of them on their iPads! Then we came back in the classroom and shared all the living things we found! 🌳🦆🌼🐢🌱🐜 How are you celebrating Earth Day?!?! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Even our adorable lunch ladies celebrated Earth Day!!! They made these Earth Day cups for every student in the school!! We have the best lunch ladies!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

“Earth Day find a friend”. Ms. Henry's class had to find friends in the class that have done different things to help earth/green things. They also went outside for an Earth Day scavenger hunt!!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Projects were also made in 3rd grade for Earth Day!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mr. Elliott helped the 1st grade classes plant flowers for Earth Day. They planted sunflowers around the back fence!! We can't wait for all the beautiful sunflowers to start growing!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Ward's 1st grade class has been learning about Earth Day! They studied occupations that save the planet and wrote about them! They also wrote about a way we can take care of the earth! 🌎 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Mrs. Casey's class has also been learning a lot about Earth Day! Yesterday they researched ways to help our planet by reading Earth Day books with a partner. They decided how they would like to help the planet and wrote about it.🌎❤️ #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

More Earth Day fun!!! Mrs. Fox's class has been discussing seeds and the planting process. They planted grass seeds to make the hair for their own personal grass person. The class has also been talking about parts of the flower and were able to color a flower picture. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Expectation #5- We will help one another whenever possible. Last week the NJROTC Corps of Cadets came and helped make Catalayah beautiful!!! They volunteered their time to not only clean up Catalayah but also all Claremore Public Schools, VFW, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. We appreciate Chief Jasper for being a great example for these kids!! Thanks to our NJROTC Corps of Cadets and Chief Jasper!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Here it is!!!! The moment we have all been waiting for! Do you remember when I told you about the art contest the City of Claremore Storm Water Manager presented to 5th graders? Do you also remember me telling you- our very own Hanna Stesney is the winner?!?!? Hanna got to attend the City Council meeting Monday night where they recognized Hanna and showed off her drawing. Her drawing is already on the truck and we have not only been seeing the truck around town but it also comes to Catalayah!!! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Ms. Henry and the STEM club worked on some coding yesterday. They got on Ozoblockly Shape Tracer 2, to practice coding skills! The coding program builds skills in mathematics, sequencing (steps for the robot), noticing patterns, and so much more. Students were unknowingly to them reinforcing skills from their academics through this program in a fun, new, and exciting way! Mrs. Dunham and I really enjoyed that we could see how hard they were having to think about it but were still succeeding. Some students even made mistakes but showed their problem solving skills to change the code to do what they actually needed/wanted it to do. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
