Greeting each other is so ingrained in our culture, that every teacher greets every student at their door before coming into the classroom. We are so excited to announce the addition of some new staff members to the Claremont family! Next up is Mrs. Madison Leifheit, 4th Grade. "Why Claremont?" Claremont Elementary holds a special in my heart. During my final year of college at OSU I was placed at Claremont to complete my student teaching. During that experience I got to learn from and work with Mrs. Ward in first grade. The first grade teachers were so supportive and welcoming along with the students. I learned so much from my time there. I knew I wanted to work at Claremont after I graduated because I had such a positive experience with all of the staff and students during student teaching. "What are you most excited about in the upcoming year?" I’m excited to meet my students and create a positive learning environment with them! My grandfather and my great aunt actually attended Claremont when they first moved to Claremore in the 1940’s. My papa was in 3rd grade and my aunt was in 2nd. I have grown up hearing stories about his school days at Claremont and I am honored to now be a part of the Claremont family. "What are you most excited about this upcoming year?" ‼ REMINDER - EARLY RELEASE = PLC MEETINGS FOR TEACHERS 📅 Begins August 25th Dismissal 🕑Elementary- 2:00p 🕝Secondary - 2:30p Early release for our kids means meeting time for our teachers. This time is excellent for lesson planning, district meetings, and sharing ideas with our teacher friends across the district. Professional learning communities (PLCs) are a collaborative approach to professional development. Small groups of educators meet regularly to explore new concepts, share expertise and insights from their teaching experiences, and engage in collective problem-solving. We are lucky we have this time and the technology to meet with teachers from all over the district to maximize our time together. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

I’ve been a nurse since 2016 and my hopes have always been to be a school nurse. I love the Claremore Public School district, so when the opportunity arose for a school nurse opening, I had to apply! My husband teaches and my child is starting kindergarten in the district. Claremont has amazing teachers, administration, and kids! I look forward to step into this position and become a Claremore Zebra! "What are you most excited about this coming year?" I am excited to jump into this position and serve the students of Claremore. We are so excited to welcome Mr. Mudd to the Claremont family as our new Assistant Principal! In order for you to get to know him a little better before the year starts, we asked him a few questions! ->How long have you been at CPS? "I have been at CPS since 2016." ->What made you want to be an Assistant Principal? "I have been teaching for 23 years. During those years I have taught Technology Education and Instrumental Music. I believe that I can make a larger positive impact for more students as an Assistant Principal. " ->What is your favorite thing about CPS? "The sense of community and family that I have found at this district is unlike anything I experienced elsewhere in education." ->What are you most looking forward to this year? "Getting to the Students, Parents and Teachers that make up the Claremont Community and learning how I can best be of service to them."
