The Cherokee Nation is receiving $1.8 billion in COVID-19 recovery funds as part of a historic investment in Indian Country. We at Claremore Public schools want to make sure that our students and families are aware of this. Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. and Deputy Chief Bryan Warner’s proposed spending plan for the funds will provide every Cherokee citizen with a total of $2,000 in direct relief assistance. This assistance is for EVERY Cherokee citizen with a blue tribal membership card. These students have been faced with many challenges in their time in Elementary school, but they have persevered. Our hope for them is that they continue to persevere as their journey takes them through Jr. High and High School, and that they are dedicated to the pursuit of integrity, responsibility, self-discipline, and doing good. Did you know that critical thinking and problem solving happens in art class? Students in Mrs. Francis' art class got to practice the art of pendulum painting! Pendulum paintings are created by attaching a can or bottle of paint to a rope or string and hanging it over a canvas - then, you swing it! As a pendulum swings, it follows an elliptical path.
