Our fifth graders did an incredible job leading our first (official) Rise and Shine of the year—it truly was a GOLDEN time at Claremont.
We are so proud of our leaders and the way they helped kick off this special Claremont tradition.

We kicked off our first Rise & Shine of the year by reviewing procedures, celebrating Students of the Month and August birthdays, and joining together for the Pledge of Allegiance and the Claremont Song at the beginning of September.
Rise & Shine is a big deal at Claremont and we are proud of our students for starting the year strong!

Snap, Crackle, POP—yesterday was National Rice Krispy Day!
Our Sunshine Committee provided some mini Rice Krispies today to add a little sweetness and a whole lot of smiles.
Because every day is better with a treat (and a little zebra spirit)!

Lunch is always better together!
One of our amazing teachers chose to spend lunchtime with her students, and the smiles say it all. Moments like this remind us how powerful the partnership between teachers and students can be.
At #Claremont, we love building strong connections that help every child succeed!

Our amazing librarian, Ms. Browning, has kicked off a fun program that encourages students to step outside their comfort zone and explore books they might not have thought to check out. Some of these books are marked as “winners” — and when students discover one at checkout, they get to choose a prize!
Bryson was our very first Winning Book reader of the year!
Way to go, Bryson! #Claremont

In honor of Constitution Day, our 4th graders had a blast role-playing the three branches of government! They worked together to create and pass laws for our school. Each law had to begin in “Congress,” be reviewed by our nine “Justices,” and finally be signed by the “President” before becoming official.
Some of the popular laws that successfully made it through all three branches included:
👉 No stabbing others with pencils.
👉 If you talk over the teacher, you must complete homework that night.
To make it even more authentic, the students memorized and wrote The Preamble on scrolls!
This Constitution Day activity brought government to life in a fun, hands-on way while helping students understand how checks and balances work! Way to go 4th grade!!

Our first graders couldn’t miss out on the Play-Doh fun either!
Our Claremont Zebras had a blast yesterday — creating, building, and letting their imaginations shine. From wild creatures to colorful masterpieces, their creativity was on full display!
We loved celebrating National Play-Doh Day!

Our Pre-K doesn’t need an excuse to play with Play-Doh… but today we have one! It’s National Play-Doh Day and our littlest Zebras are having the best time creating, rolling, and squishing.
Play-Doh isn’t just fun — it’s important for young children, too! It helps build fine motor skills, strengthens hand muscles for future writing, sparks creativity, and encourages imaginative play.
What a perfect way to celebrate learning through play!

One of our first grade classes have been working hard to earn compliments from teachers and staff—especially while walking in the hallways. Each time we earn one, we add it to our tally. Once we hit 10 compliments, we celebrate with something special!
This time, our first graders earned a sidewalk chalk recess! They showed responsibility, respect, and teamwork, and we are so proud of them.
Way to go, Zebras! 🦓
Keep working hard and showing that awesome hallway behavior!

At #Claremont, we know that reading with your child makes a big difference!
This month’s newsletter includes a Literacy Loop section that focuses on phonemic awareness—the foundation of strong reading skills.
When you take time to read to and with your child every day, you’re building vocabulary, boosting comprehension, and creating special moments together. Even just 10–15 minutes a day can make a lasting impact!
We love seeing our teachers and students sharing books and we encourage families to keep the love of reading growing at home too!

Our Little Zebras had so much fun learning about their tools last week — scissors, glue, and markers - oh my!
We loved watching their excitement as they explored, practiced, and grew more confident using them. It’s amazing to see these early skills come to life and set the stage for all the creativity ahead!

Our Pre-K kiddos have been learning all about kindness! After reading Chrysanthemum, we discovered how our words can wrinkle someone’s heart —and how important it is to care for each other’s hearts. We promised to keep our Pre-K hearts wrinkle-free with kindness! #Claremont
