Claremont Elementary is partnering with the non-profit, Light of Hope, to create some Thanksgiving Dinner Baskets. These donations will be given to Claremont families that need a little extra help this holiday season. Your donations can make a difference for our families!
The donation deadline is November 18th.

3rd grade math is so fun! Mrs. Millsap's class spends small group time together reviewing what they've learned.
Everybody loves that Chick-Fil-A sweet tea and lemonade! Bring it to your holiday gathering, corporate party, or home for dinner.
This month Chick-fil-A will donate $1 to the Claremore Public School Foundation. CPSF funds class and teacher grants district-wide.
Go by and grab a gallon or two... or three this month.

To honor our Veterans this Veterans Day, Mrs. Cambers Pre-K classes made decorations and colored pictures that Mrs. Camber will be delivering to the Veterans Center.
Parents, please make sure your students iPads and Laptops are coming to school charged each day. Your student needs daily hands-on experience with their devices in order to ensure that they are prepared for their distance learning material on Fridays.
Last week, students from Mrs. Halbrook's class also participated in a mock election. Students learned that voting is an important right in our country.
November 8th is National STEAM Day. The STEAM framework brings 5 disciplines together, Science - Technology - Engineering - Art - and Math, to create an inclusive learning environment that encourages all students to participate. Here at Claremont, students in 3rd-5th grades have been able to take advantage of our new Innovation Lab where these STEAM practices are put into place. Our students are absolutely enjoying their time with Mrs. Cardwell and love to share about the things they are learning and projects they are doing!
WIN stands for What I Need. WIN time happens every day for every student at Claremont. During this time, students get specific, focused instruction in the area of their greatest need. This area is determined by student assessment and is data-driven. This ensures each student is receiving extra instruction where they most need it. Here, 4th grade students researched an influential Hispanic-American for National Hispanic Heritage Month. After their research, they each put together a presentation to give to their peers.
Kindergarten plays Roll N Cover for a math lesson. This game helps build number sense and its also fun at the same time!
Every month, Claremont has a word of the month. For the whole month, teachers are looking for students who live out and represent that word. For October, the word of the month was Integrity - doing the right thing even when no one is watching. 2nd grade students spent PE outside in the sunshine today - and had a fun time with hula hoops. Some of the students were even able to hula with more than one at a time!
Mrs. Stadler's Kindergarten class has been learning a lot about our Word of the Month for November: Patriotism. Students colored their own American Flags and were able to show those off to Mr. Frazier during a visit earlier this week!

Mrs. Wards 1st grade class held a mock vote this week as well! Students were able to fill out their ballots to vote for President. The class totals were Trump (10 votes) and Biden (5 votes)!
Mrs. Howell and Mrs. Johnston's classes also participated in mock voting today. Two books were read to them and students got together to campaign for their favorite book and then got to cast their votes for their favorite!

Kindergarten classes read Duck For President, a story about a duck who decides he no longer wants to work the farm, he wants to RUN the farm. After students heard the story, they had a mock voting activity where they were able to vote on who they wanted for President, Duck or Farmer Brown.
First up for our Claremont Staff Spotlight is Ms. Wells. This is Ms. Wells second year at Claremont, and this year she is working with our CVS Students!
The arrival of November means several things: Pumpkin spice season is in full swing, holiday menus are being planned, guzzling hot chocolate is more than socially acceptable, there's a pie (or two!) in the oven, and—perhaps most importantly—it's ELECTION DAY!
