Yesterday was “Same School, New Recipe” and WOW… our school was turned upside down in the best way!

Students showed up dressed like their teachers — from lanyards and coffee cups to cardigans and comfy shoes. Meanwhile, our teachers rocked backpacks, hoodies, and sneakers like true pros.

Let’s just say… we have some VERY convincing future educators in the making!

It was a day full of laughs, creativity, and school spirit — all while celebrating the importance of reading together. We love seeing our students and staff have fun building community through literacy.

Stay tuned… more Read Across America Week fun coming!

National Read Across America Day – Dr. Seuss Day!

Yesterday, March 2nd, we celebrated National Read Across America Day, also known as Dr. Seuss Day! Each year on this date, schools across the country honor the birthday of Dr. Seuss and celebrate the joy of reading!

And we celebrated in true Seussical fashion!

Our students enjoyed green eggs and ham for lunch and topped it off with a slice of wacky cake. These boys gave it two thumbs up, two grins wide, and maybe even a “Sam-I-Am approved!”

Reading is one of the greatest gifts we can give our students. It builds imagination, confidence, and opens doors to endless possibilities.

Oh, the places they’ll go!

Our Chess Club is the biggest it has ever been — and we couldn’t be more excited!

What started as a small group has grown into a room full of strategic thinkers, problem-solvers, and students who love a challenge.

Chess isn’t just a game. It builds critical thinking, patience, focus, and perseverance. Our students are learning how to plan ahead, analyze situations, think through consequences, and make thoughtful decisions — skills that transfer directly into the classroom and beyond.

In April, our club will compete in a tournament, and the top three finishers will earn their very own chess boards. We are so proud of the dedication these students are showing as they practice, learn from one another, and grow each week.

Way to go, Claremont Chess Club! We can’t wait to see you shine in April.

Ms. Siever's class had a BLAST today with sensory beads!

Students were digging through colorful beads searching for hidden “treasure” gems. Not only was it tons of fun, but they were also building fine motor skills, teamwork, and problem-solving while they explored.

Hands-on learning + a little treasure hunt = the perfect combination!

We love seeing our students engaged, curious, and excited to learn.

Our 5th graders had an out-of-this-world experience at the planetarium this week!
Students dove into the fascinating world of black holes, learning how they form, how gravity works in space, and what happens when stars collapse. The immersive dome experience made science come alive as they traveled through galaxies and explored some of the most mysterious objects in our universe.

We love providing opportunities for our students to experience learning beyond the classroom walls. Watching their curiosity spark as they asked questions and made connections was incredible!

Way to go, 5th grade — the sky is NOT the limit!

Students kicked off their hockey unit and are LOVING it!

One of the skills they’re working on is striking an object with a long-handled implement, and hockey is the perfect way to build coordination, control, and teamwork.

So much fun + so much learning happening in our gym!

Last Friday at Rise & Shine, we were blessed to have Mrs. Millsap’s class lead our assembly — and they did an incredible job!

Students shared what they love most about Claremont, and their answers were the sweetest reminder of why we are so fortunate to be part of this school family. They highlighted their amazing teachers, the friendships they’ve built, and even their favorite subjects to learn each day. Hearing their gratitude and pride in our school was so special.

We also recognized students who participated in Circle the State with Song — what an accomplishment! Their hard work and dedication truly shine.

And a BIG congratulations to one of our 3rd graders who received a GRIT Award — WAY TO GO! We are so proud of the perseverance, character, and determination our students show every day.

Claremont is a special place because of the people in it — and Friday was a beautiful reminder of that.

Officer Hagen does so much more than keep our campus safe — he builds relationships, offers a listening ear, encourages our students, and is a positive presence consistently.

Whether he’s helping solve problems or jumping in to support staff, he does it all with kindness and dedication.

Our elementary is better because of him. We are so grateful for the hard work, heart, and protection he provides our school family each day!

THANK YOU OFFICER HAGEN!

They generously treated our teachers to their famous fresh-baked rolls and surprised our students with thoughtful Valentine treats.

It meant so much to both our staff and students to feel appreciated and supported. We are truly grateful for community partners like Texas Roadhouse who continue to invest in our school family.

Thank you for making our week extra special!
