Friday, Mrs. Mills’ class did a wonderful job leading our Rise and Shine assembly with a powerful message about growth and perseverance.
They recited a poem about the beauty of making mistakes and how those mistakes help us learn and grow. With voices loud and proud, they reminded us that every stumble is a step forward and every challenge makes us stronger. It was such an important message for all of us!
We also celebrated our Student Shout-Out recipients, who were recognized for being positive leaders and shining examples in our school community.
Thank you to Mrs. Mills’ class for starting our day with encouragement and heart. What a great reminder that growth happens when we try, fall, and try again.

We are incredibly thankful for the community members who took time out of their busy schedules to share their love of reading with our students. From former staff members who still hold our school close to their hearts, to members of our local sheriff’s office, local pastors, and even an Early Childhood class from NTC — our students were surrounded by role models who showed them that reading matters at every stage of life.
Seeing community leaders sit in a tiny chair, open a book, and bring a story to life sends a powerful message: reading is important, reading is fun, and reading connects us all.
Thank you to everyone who came to read, encourage, and pour into our students. Your time and presence made a lasting impact!
We truly have the best community around us.

Ms. McCann is a steady, caring presence in our building. She is a safe place for our students, a calm voice during hard moments, and a constant advocate for what is best for kids. Whether she’s helping students navigate big emotions, supporting families, collaborating with teachers or simply offering a listening ear, her impact reaches far beyond her office walls.
She works tirelessly behind the scenes to remove barriers so our students can focus on learning and growing. Because of her compassion, patience, and heart for children, our school is stronger every single day.
We are so grateful for you, Ms. McCann.
Thank you for the difference you make in the lives of our students and families!

There’s nothing better than ending the week comfy, relaxed, and lost in a good book. Reading + pajamas = the perfect Friday combination!
Let’s close out Read Across America Week celebrating the joy of reading in the coziest way possible.

We had SO many amazing book characters show up today that one post just wasn’t enough!
From cookies and mice to sparkles and sass, our students truly brought their favorite stories to life. The creativity, excitement, and pride in their costumes made today extra special.
One of the best parts? Hearing students talk about the books behind their outfits — sharing why they love the characters and what makes the stories memorable. That’s what Read Across America Week is all about!
Swipe through and enjoy more of the storybook magic!
We can’t wait to see what today brings!

It’s time to mix it up!
Wear your most mismatched clothes — crazy socks, clashing colors, stripes with polka dots… the more mixed-up, the better!
Grab your favorite book and come ready for another day of celebrating the joy of reading. Because sometimes the best stories — and outfits — don’t have to match perfectly to be amazing.
We can’t wait to see those wild and wacky looks tomorrow!

We spotted favorites from If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, Junie B. Jones, and Fancy Nancy, just to name a few! From mouse ears and cookies to sparkles and sass, the creativity was incredible.
Students were so excited to share who they dressed as and why that character is special to them. It was more than just costumes — it was conversations about books, stories, and favorite reading moments.
Today was a beautiful reminder that when students connect to characters, they connect to reading. ❤️📖
We are LOVING Read Across America Week!

We received SO many great photos, and it was clear that our school spirit was on full display one post just wasn't enough!

Yesterday was “Same School, New Recipe” and WOW… our school was turned upside down in the best way!
Students showed up dressed like their teachers — from lanyards and coffee cups to cardigans and comfy shoes. Meanwhile, our teachers rocked backpacks, hoodies, and sneakers like true pros.
Let’s just say… we have some VERY convincing future educators in the making!
It was a day full of laughs, creativity, and school spirit — all while celebrating the importance of reading together. We love seeing our students and staff have fun building community through literacy.
Stay tuned… more Read Across America Week fun coming!

Wednesday, March 4 – Reading Appetite Required
It’s time to bring your favorite stories to life!
Dress up as your favorite book character and come ready to show off your reading spirit. From classic characters to new favorites, we can’t wait to see the creativity walking through our doors!
Reading feeds the imagination — and tomorrow we are serving up a full menu of great characters!
Let’s make it a storybook kind of day!

National Read Across America Day – Dr. Seuss Day!
Yesterday, March 2nd, we celebrated National Read Across America Day, also known as Dr. Seuss Day! Each year on this date, schools across the country honor the birthday of Dr. Seuss and celebrate the joy of reading!
And we celebrated in true Seussical fashion!
Our students enjoyed green eggs and ham for lunch and topped it off with a slice of wacky cake. These boys gave it two thumbs up, two grins wide, and maybe even a “Sam-I-Am approved!”
Reading is one of the greatest gifts we can give our students. It builds imagination, confidence, and opens doors to endless possibilities.
Oh, the places they’ll go!

Our Chess Club is the biggest it has ever been — and we couldn’t be more excited!
What started as a small group has grown into a room full of strategic thinkers, problem-solvers, and students who love a challenge.
Chess isn’t just a game. It builds critical thinking, patience, focus, and perseverance. Our students are learning how to plan ahead, analyze situations, think through consequences, and make thoughtful decisions — skills that transfer directly into the classroom and beyond.
In April, our club will compete in a tournament, and the top three finishers will earn their very own chess boards. We are so proud of the dedication these students are showing as they practice, learn from one another, and grow each week.
Way to go, Claremont Chess Club! We can’t wait to see you shine in April.

We kicked off our morning celebrating the best of Claremont — and yes, we definitely “danced” our way into the weekend!
Claremont is such a special place because of the people in it. Thank you to everyone who helps make our school shine!

Here is NUMBER 29!
This week’s featured find is Pferendon—a unique story that invites readers into a world full of imagination and curiosity. It’s a great reminder that sometimes the most memorable books are the ones that surprise us the most.
Thank you, Ms. Browning, for continuing to make reading an adventure filled with discovery and delight!

Students were digging through colorful beads searching for hidden “treasure” gems. Not only was it tons of fun, but they were also building fine motor skills, teamwork, and problem-solving while they explored.
Hands-on learning + a little treasure hunt = the perfect combination!
We love seeing our students engaged, curious, and excited to learn.
