We are thrilled to announce Claremont’s 2025 Site Teacher of the Year — Mrs. Vicki Millsap!

Mrs. Millsap has been part of the education world for 18 years, including four as a kindergarten paraprofessional and 14 as a classroom teacher. Her love for teaching was inspired by her mom, a retired educator, and her sister, who now serves as a high school principal.

When asked what makes Claremont special, she shared, “Claremont is a special place. The grit and tenacity of our educators and students is unmatched and on display daily.”

Mrs. Millsap is known for creating a classroom where curiosity and kindness come first. She loves seeing her students take ownership of their learning — and her favorite event each year, the 3rd Grade Wax Museum, perfectly captures that excitement.

She says "I hope my students know how much I care about them. That’s my daily goal. I try to frame each day around the quote “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” (Theodore Roosevelt) Love first, educate second. "

We’re so proud of Mrs. Millsap and the difference she makes every single day. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!

Our second graders did an outstanding job leading today’s Rise & Shine assembly. They demonstrated excellent procedures and showcased their learning with a wonderful song about the continents.

We also presented our Operation Clean Sweep awards, where teachers voted on whether the boys or girls maintained the cleanest bathrooms—a fun way to encourage responsibility and teamwork throughout our building.

In addition, our GCEPI Award was presented to our kindergarten students who consistently displayed kindness, respect, and proper manners—both during their pumpkin patch field trip and in the hallways this week.

We are so proud of all our students for representing Claremont with pride and excellence!

Today, the Claremore Fire Department visited Claremont to review fire safety with our students!

Students rotated through four engaging stations where they learned about the gear firefighters wear, experienced the excitement of a bounce house, and even had the chance to spray water from a real fire hose.

We are so grateful to the Claremore Fire Department for taking the time to teach our students about fire safety in such a fun and memorable way.
Thank you for keeping our community safe and inspiring our future heroes!

Science was bubbling over with excitement today as Ms. Bailey’s students created their own “elephant toothpaste!” This hands-on experiment let students explore chemical reactions in a fun, foamy way—watching ordinary ingredients combine to make something extraordinary.

It’s always amazing to see curiosity and learning come to life right in the classroom. Great job, scientists!
