Our students were recently treated to some very cool cultural activities for Cherokee Heritage Days. One of their favorite activities was Stickball!
Did you know that Stickball is known as one of North America's oldest team sports? Several Native American tribes were known to play the game.

Mrs. Massey is our resource teacher! As a resource teacher, Mrs. Massey wears many hats. She provides support for students, teachers and administrators, works individually with students to help them reach their goals in reading, writing and math.

Everybody loves that Chick-Fil-A sweet tea and lemonade! Bring it to your holiday gathering, corporate party, or home for dinner. This month Chick-fil-A will donate $1 to the Claremore Public School Foundation. CPSF funds class and teacher grants district-wide.

Friday, November 4th is Will Rogers Day and CPS has been asked to participate in their dress-up day to help bring back the excitement of the historical event.
The theme is a favorite movie character. Come dressed as your favorite movie character, Friday, November 4th and celebrate along with us!

Kindergarten students in Mrs. Shrum's class did a Pumpkin Investigation where they made observations about all of the different parts of the pumpkin - especially the guts!

Our students were so excited to have members of the Claremore Fire Department visit during fire safety month! They loved getting to learn more about the gear fireman wear to keep themselves protected, and were especially excited about jumping out of a house!

October is National Principal's Month and on this last day of October we want to give a shout out to our amazing principal, Mrs. Fay!
Mrs. Fay works tirelessly to ensure that students and staff have every opportunity to be successful at Claremont. We are thankful for her kindness and leadership.

Mrs. Wimberly's 3rd graders did a stem activity and carved a pumpkin!! For their STEM activity, students were given candy pumpkins and toothpicks and given the ability to build structures with them.
Once their pumpkin was carved, they labeled the parts of it!

These 4th graders deserved a brain break after working so hard completing their opinion and informational paragraphs. As a reward for hard work, they were able to spend one day of WIN time playing board games!

Bringing some kind of a treat into a lesson always makes it so much fun! 2nd grade students learned about different kinds of matter: solids, liquids and gasses, and got to use fruit loops to help individually chart what their findings were.
It's always a good day when you get to 'eat your lesson!'

Did you know that recess time helps students by improving their memory, attention and concentration! It also helps them to stay on task in the classroom and reduces disruptive behavior! Recess really IS important!
