Aren't they creative?

On this Wellness Wednesday, we want to talk about the one thing we never get enough of (right parents?)...sleep.
Did you know that the National Sleep Foundation has recommended hours of sleep for each age? Getting a good night's sleep has so many benefits, including wellness, brain function, and even behavior.
Check out the graphic from the National Sleep Foundation below. Is your child getting enough sleep? Are you?
Go ahead and use this as an excuse to put your kiddo (or yourself) to bed a little earlier tonight!

We can't wait to introduce our PTO for the 2021-2022 school year!
"My name is Nina Patch and I am a Co-Vice President for PTO this year."
"I’m so excited to be involved in the Claremont Elementary PTO! Education is extremely important to me. I want to make a difference, and be a positive role model in our children’s lives. By volunteering I can’t wait to build relationships, friendships, and help support the Claremont administration and parents."

Procedures are some of the most important things taught - all year - but especially at the beginning of the year and these first graders are rocking their procedures!
Ask your student about some of their classroom procedures. You might be surprised to find out that some of them are similar to ones you use in your own home!

We can't wait to introduce our PTO for the 2021-2022 school year!
"My name is Ashley Norvel and I am the new PTO President. I knew when my daughter started going to Claremont that I wanted to be a part of her school life."
"I have had the pleasure of volunteering with the PTO before and loved getting to know all of the staff, as well as my daughters school friends. As a bonus, my daughter thinks I'm cool because I am PTO President."

Kindergarten students spend time in centers working on learning through play. Learning through play is one of the best ways for a child to develop a sense of adventure and nurture their imagination.
What do you think these Kindergarten students are imagining as they play?

On this Wellness Wednesday, we believe that it is important to stress the benefits of a solid before and after school routine.
"Just like adults, children feel more confident and secure when their daily activities are predictable and familiar. "
"A consistent daily schedule and step-by-step routines give children a predictable day. Schedules and routines in the group care setting and at home help children:
-Feel in control of their environment.
-Feel safe, secure, and comfortable.
-Know what is happening now and what comes next.
-Know how to do an activity or task.
-Engage in learning."
-UD Department of Health and Human Services
How are you creating a back to school routine that is beneficial to your student?
