It's that time again! With the weather quickly changing, it's important that your child is prepared with clothing appropriate for the temperature. Labeling the tags of jackets and coats is always helpful, just in case the item is misplaced.
These Westies cashed in zebra bucks for special rewards, and Keigan paid to share about her pet hermit crabs. Many of Mrs. Campbell's students were thrilled to experience seeing this tiny creature for the first time! She taught her classmates all about hermit crab care and behavior. We love seeing these cool experiences in our building!

Westside classes participated in a poster decorating competition in recognition of Red Ribbon Week. Our wonderful counselor, Mrs. Lyons, delivered the winning blue ribbon to Mrs. Peterson and Mrs. Gatz' Class. This group created a fantastic representation of this week's meaning with, "Say no to drugs and yes to chicken nuggs!" Fantastic job to everyone who participated in this week's events!

🌶SAVE THE DATE - November 3rd - for the 36th Annual Chili Supper hosted by the Claremore Rotary. Your $5 ticket will include a heaping bowl of chili, a drink, dessert and entertainment. You can purchase your ticket from any Rotary member or at the door; all proceeds benefit the Claremore Public School Foundation and go directly to teachers through their annual Grant Patrol program.

It's a doubles race! First grade students practiced their addition automaticity by learning a doubles rap and using their dice to quickly solve equations. These Westies are doing an incredible job in the classroom!

It's almost time for our amazing Westside Craft Bazaar!
The Westside t-shirt design competition is one of our exciting annual events! Westies completed their entries in art class under the guidance of Mr. McClurg. Without viewing names PTO selected their finalists out of 500 entries! The selections were narrowed down to 13 choices. With a one vote difference the winner was selected. They received a king size candy bar and the 1st place design will be created into our school shirt design. Please help us celebrate our winners!

It's National Custodian Appreciation Day! We want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of our custodial staff for the extraordinary job they do in taking care of our building. Our custodians play an integral role in making sure the school operates smoothly. Mrs. Summer and Mrs. Michelle are a huge part of the Westside Family. They are often the first faces seen in the morning and some of the last as students leave for the day. Thank you so much for all you do!
