Spring Break has come to an end & we can't wait to see everyone tomorrow!

5th graders in Mrs. Hink's class are studying King George the Third. She says:
"No taxation without representation candy simulation: my green table is my parliament (they don't pay taxes), I have 2 students going around collecting my skittle taxes. And everyone else is a colonist, and are being taxed by the teacher (King George the 3rd). This gives the students and ideas of what it was like to be a colonist and why they became so angry with King George and the meaning behind 'No taxation without representation'"

Small group learning 💪💪
Mrs. T's first grade WIN (what I need) group, listened and discussed the book, “Hidden Figures, the Story of Four Black Women and the Space Race.” To conclude, students drew colorful illustrations related to themes from the story. 📕

When you're in pre-k & learn your letters. . you get a sweet treat! This girl was skipping around and felt so proud of herself.
Way to go Livi!

Ms. Nicks & her 3rd graders are working on 3 different skills in math. Have you ever heard of the Butterfly Effect method? 🦋
Students were multiplying, comparing fractions and finding the greater than between the two fractions!

Before break, Ms. Peterson's third graders took their work outdoors! ☀️

Happy St. Patty's day, Westie Family! Don't forget to wear green so you don't get pinched!! 🍀🍀
Did you know? According to folklore, mischievous leprechauns would pinch anyone they could see. Wearing green is said to make you invisible to them- so if you forget to wear green, expect some pinches! 🍀😆

If they make it in the from their dot into the “trash cans” & they don’t get blocked, they get to pick up their dot. The team with the most dots wins! 🗑️ 🔴🔵
