Huge congratulations to Finley Faulconer and Dallas White! These hard-working individuals sold the most raffle tickets in preparation for Family Fun Night! The money raised by these sweet individuals goes to supporting our school. The support these two have shown means so much to our building. By making these sales, Finley was able to win a hover board and Dallas a brand new bike!

Westies always love a twinning moment. Mrs. McGill even got to be a matching triplet with her 5th graders. We always appreciate the simple joys!

Happy National School Nurse Day to our incredible nurse, Ms. Rains! Ms. Rains contributes to our school, improving the safety, health, and academic success of all students. She is the hearbeat of our of the building and provides a save comforting space for students who may need health and wellness support. Thank you, Ms. Rains, for all you do. You are so valued and appreciated!

Ms. Palmers 4th grade students were able to combine art and math. Ms. Palmer would select a card and students had to read the measurement. Then, they would look at the sheet and see what kind of body part they needed to draw. These students loved creating wild things with measurement. Such a fun idea!

Teacher Appreciation Week is underway! Westside staff was treated to tropical drinks from building administrators. They also had a sweet surprise of donut bites from the Abbott Family. Thank you for the continued support of our Westside teachers. Our building is truly lucky to have such an incredible staff!

Just like these kindergarten students, Mrs. McClurg's class chia pets are growing and thriving! These Westies have enjoyed watching their plants get taller each day.🌱

Westside has some paleontologists in the making! Mrs. Nelson's third grade students have been learning about fossils and the hard work paleontologists do. They participated in a fossil dig with desserts alongside their kindergarten Westie Besties. Check out this sweet activity!🍪🦕

Mrs. Gaylord gave the younger Westies a chance to explore some of the instruments that aren't typically available to them yet. These precious pianists were fascinated with the mechanics and sounds. These first time experiences are so precious!

Fifth grade students had the opportunity to play noodle hockey in PE! These competitive Westies loved this activity. Coach Faulconer always finds fun ways to play games in the gym.

Westie Besties from Ms. Palmer's and Ms. Pilant's classes had some fun bonding time together. These fourth grade and kindergarten students were able to decompress before the older grades began state testing. Great collaboration, besties!

This photo exemplifies some of the wonderful things that you might see on a typical day at Westside. First, our incredible Safety Patrol members assisting students throughout the building. This kind, nurturing, natural-born leader helped a younger student find her class. Next, in the background, our amazing assistant principal makes sure every student feels celebrated and ready for the day. This is what it's all about. You never know how far that ripple of kindness will go.

Mrs. McClurg is teaching her sweet kindergarten friends about plant growth while simultaneously turning them into chia pets! These are so precious and we can't wait to see how they turn out. This is a wonderful way to make learning fun!
#CPSZEBRAPRIDE

There's nothing quite like an impromptu game of duck, duck, goose on the playground. Mrs. Classen helped show these Westside students how it's done!
#CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Ms. Pilant's kindergarten leaders have been working on place value! This is a vital skill that they'll learn to build on throughout their elementary experience. They are already learning how to identify groups of ones, tens, and hundreds and apply them in standard and model form. Looks like these students are making progress!
