How do you learn about writing essays? You have a COMPLIMENT party!
Mrs. Blankenship's English class celebrated the completion of their five paragraph essays by having a “compliment party”. Each student had the opportunity to read essays written by their peers and then leave them a compliment on their work.
What a great way to motivate students!

Last week, our TSA students competed in the National TSA Conference. They made the finals out of over 800 teams, 🙌 but we won't know until the end of June where they placed.

Instead of a written final, Mrs. Jarrett’s History classes were challenged to create a 3D model and poster on one topic discussed this year. Each student picked one topic, researched their topic, then created a poster with what their 3D model would look like. Students were encouraged to build everything with boxes and paint rather than buy supplies. Every student showed how creative and innovative they are! And they had fun!

For the last day of school, the 8th grade classes did a POD Olympics Day! The POD's competed against each other in different sporting events- wheelbarrow races, hoop-shoot, three- legged race, and cornhole! The losing POD teachers got a pie in the face!
What a great memory for our 8th graders' last day of Junior High!

In conjunction with the USDA Seamless Summer Program, CPS Child Nutrition Department is still serving our Grab & Go meals from 10:30A - 12:30P at 3 locations daily for students 18 & under.
We will distribute through August 9 on Mondays and Thursdays. Meals are "Grab and Go" with 3 meals distributed on Mondays and 4 meals on Thursdays.

The Cherokee Nation is receiving $1.8 billion in COVID-19 recovery funds as part of a historic investment in Indian Country. We at Claremore Public schools want to make sure that our students and families are aware of this.
Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. and Deputy Chief Bryan Warner’s proposed spending plan for the funds will provide every Cherokee citizen with a total of $2,000 in direct relief assistance. This assistance is for EVERY Cherokee citizen with a blue tribal membership card.
The Cherokee Nation will begin launching applications for its Respond, Recover and Rebuild COVID-19 assistance using FRF funds through the tribe’s online Gadugi Portal. Applications for direct assistance are expected to be online on June 1st or 2nd, but citizens are encouraged to register for the Gadugi Portal now to ease the sign-up process later. It is encouraged that everyone in the household creates a profile on the Gadugi Portal this means each citizen, yes children as well. Follow the link below to the Gadugi Portal.
