Claremore Public Schools will join the national #BeTheLight movement tonight at 20:20 military time (or 8:20 PM). Lantow Field, Legendary Legion Field, and the Lady Zebra softball field will turn their light on for 20 minutes. Even in this gesture of hope, we will continue to practice social distancing and reinforce the “safer at home” standards that have been put in place by the state authorities. We will be working to livestream from a drone on our District FaceBook page and will post additional footage and photos later this week on all our platforms. https://www.facebook.com/ClaremorePublicSchools/

The Junior High enrollment procedures for next school year are being determined at this time. As soon as we have a plan in place, we will let you know. Also, some of our teachers will be offering new ways to reach out to their students with the use of different internet platforms. This will allow students to engage with their teachers and classmates in real time. Remember, the students and teachers will be having class, so it is important that parents don’t attempt to communicate with teachers during these instructional times. If you have questions for teachers, please reach out to them through email or request a phone call, so the instructional time is not interrupted. The teachers are looking forward to seeing their students! We miss them! Thank you. I appreciate your patience and understanding through these times. Feel free to email me at jbyoung@claremore.k12.ok.us or call 918-923-4205. Mr. Young

Happy Easter, Zebras!
From Mr. Young: I am reaching out to make sure everyone has been able to communicate with your child's teachers. It is important if you have had a change in your contact information to let your teacher and our office know so we can change it in our system. Also, please let us know if you’re not receiving school messenger calls. This will allow us to effectively communicate with each of you. Please email me at jbyoung@claremore.k12.ok.us, or call 918-923-4205 and leave a message. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

UPDATE 4-3-20 RE: Letter from Superintendent Frazier about Continuous Learning Launch April 6th Zebra Family, My hope and prayers are that you are safe & healthy while taking care of your families and friends. Our number one concern is your safety and wellbeing. Parents, we love and miss your children. Closing our buildings and canceling many of our year-end events leaves us broken-hearted. Since these restrictions have gone into place, we have been working on a plan to connect with students and families - to do what we do best - love and teach your children. I am so proud of the work our teachers and administrators have done over these past few weeks. I am proud to be a Zebra. With that said, tonight, we are releasing our Continuous Learning Model for all students beginning Monday, April 6th. COVID-19 Health Update 3-27-20
From Mr. Young: At this time we have had 639 of our parents and students who have responded to our technology availability survey. I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to fill it out. I also want to thank the teachers for all of their hard work trying to reach out. We still have about 100 parents who have not responded. It is critical that we know who is able to get online for their continuous education, so that we are able to serve those who don’t have access. We will be using the Google Classroom platform to engage students in their learning for the remainder of the year. Prior to April 6, teachers will be adding students to their Google classrooms. Students should be checking their school emails and Remind apps for alerts. Parents and students, if you have not signed up for Remind, please email one of the teachers from your child’s pod to get the code. If your child has forgotten their password to their google account you can email our librarian at deddings@claremore.k12.ok.us to reset their password. You may only be hearing from one teacher from your child’s pod at this time, but that teacher is communicating for your child’s team of teachers. We will continue to reach out to parents regularly to update our progress and we plan to start on April 6. Please continue to check out our Facebook page and the Claremore Public Schools app for more information regarding assignments and amount of time expected on classwork each day. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
