What do you do right before spring break, to keep the students engaged? A marshmallow challenge! Mrs. Lohmann's math class was challenged to sketch out and then build the tallest free standing tower that would support a large marshmallow on the top. They had to work in groups, learn what materials were stronger than others, how engineering failures can happen, and techniques of different materials. The materials were spaghetti noodles, one yard of string, and one yard of tape. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

✨Staff Spotlight✨ My name is Michael Davis. I grew up in Chouteau, Ok and went to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M after graduating high school. I received my associates degree there, then went on to Oklahoma State University where I received my bachelors degree in secondary education. I have been teaching at WRJH for 5 years. ✨Staff Spotlight✨ I am Mrs. Jarrett. I love to read and hang out with my husband and dog. I also love to watch crime shows! I am from Claremore Oklahoma. I was born at the Claremore hospital, I went to Claremont Elementary, Central Upper Elementary (C.U.E. the current administration building), Will Rogers Jr High, and Claremore High School! I went to college at Rogers State University (RSU) where I obtained my associates degree in Elementary Education. I then started a teaching program on the RSU campus, however the program was through Cameron University (CU). I graduated from CU in 2018 with my bachelors in Elementary Education. I am currently a graduate student at Southern Nazarene University (SNU) pursuing a masters in Educational Leadership. I am currently in my third year of teaching. I decided to become a teacher for two reasons: 1. I love kids. Being with kids makes everyday a good day. 2. I want to give students a positive experience where they understand mistakes are ok and necessary to succeed. I absolutely love my job! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

I graduated from The University of South Carolina with a BS in secondary education and have my master's degree in teacher leadership.
