As a fun project between topics, our 8th grade Physical Science students took on the challenge of researching a famous scientist! They wrote essays, created Google Slides presentations, and even brought their scientists to life as Bottle Buddies! 👩🔬👨🔬 It was a great way to dive into history, science, and creativity all at once! And how cute are those Bottle Buddies?!

Students in Mrs. Newbury's science classes have been diving into the world of DNA and discussing how it's present in every cell of our body. Students got a hands-on opportunity to let their DNA escape—literally! Using different chemical reactions, they were able to extract DNA from cheek cells, and everyone got to see their own genetic material up close. A fascinating and fun experiment!

Students in Mr. Wadsworth's classes just wrapped up a lesson on Eastern Europe and Western Russia with a partner project! Each pair researched a pre-assigned ethnic group, discovering details such as population size, traditional clothing, cultural traditions, and even hand-drawing a map of their homeland. They included 2-3 fun facts to make their posters informative. We can't wait to see the final results and learn about the rich diversity of Eastern Europe and Western Russia!

8th-graders took a break from the grind of their desks and dove into a yoga-tastic adventure during their WIN period. In this Social Emotional Learning activity, they took time stretching and breathing while stretching key muscles that are used daily while sitting in their desks. 🧘️. With glowing reviews of 10/10, it's safe to say they found their flow and can't wait to channel their inner yogis again!

Ms. Reyes' class is exploring history hands-on! 🌵💼 Students took a virtual trip back to the Oregon Trail, experiencing the challenges of westward expansion. They managed budgets, had to make sure they had enough supplies, and calculated their risks, with a few making it all the way to Oregon. Smiles, cheers, and lessons learned - that's how we do history!

Mixing history and exercise in Coach Dexter's class! 🏃️📚 Our students are learning about the French Revolution and decided to get active while diving into their readings. They walked around the school while discussing key events, then used the common areas and halls for more study time. What a way to make history both engaging and heart-healthy!
