Mrs. Mercer's students created Genre posters to review the different types of Genres. After creating the posters, each student presented their information to the class. They practiced making eye contact, speaking clearly, and using complete sentences as they presented their posters. Learning how to speak in public is a great skill that will be used throughout their school years and adult life! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

How do you compare and contrast forms of energy? In Mrs. Worley's science class, students learned how to compare energy by looking at different objects. There are the two basic forms of energy- kinetic and potential. Kinetic is the energy of moving objects and potential is energy that is stored. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

How do you get students excited to make graphs? 📈 You wave at cars! 🚗 Mrs. Tietz's classes made a hypothesis as to which hour would get the most car honks. Then, they went outside each hour, waved at cars to get them to honk, then graphed the results! I wonder what hour had the most honks? #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Rock...Paper...Scissors 🥌📄✂ Mrs. Stout’s 7th grade geography students participated in a rock, paper, scissors tournament to learn about different economic systems. Students could risk their “wealth” (in Starbursts) to try and earn more. This simulates a capitalist economy in which private citizens make decisions to earn, save, or spend money with little government control. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

How do students learn to work together as a team? Students in Mrs. Newbury's class each colored a piece of a puzzle, then they had to work together to put the puzzle together. The class talked about what being a leader is, how to work together to solve problems, and that each of us bring important skills to the table. Learning to work together as a team is an important skill for all of us! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
