WRJH Robotics is having an AMAZING year! Saturday, at the Robotics Tournament in Nowata, one of our JH teams won the Design Award! We had to compete against high school teams and we won the 2nd highest award possible! We also made it to the finals match and lost to one of the teams from Claremore High School! They did a great job though. This team had robot problems the entire day and they finally got them fixed right before the tournament started. They never gave up and worked hard all day.
To say we are proud is an UNDERSTATEMENT! Way to go, WRJH Robotics! YOU ARE CHAMPIONS!🏆

Students in Mrs. Rahn's 6th grade STEM class researched the James Webb Space Telescope and learned about its revolutionary technology which was launched on Christmas Day. The telescope will observe the most distant galaxies to help us understand the origins of the universe!
Students also learned about how NASA engineers designed the massive telescope to unfold like origami once it was in space. The James Webb Space Telescope will orbit 1 million miles from Earth. It also will undergo 6 months of unfolding its mirrors, sunshield and other systems.
This information gave students the perfect opportunity to create a stop-motion animation about how the telescope will unfold and operate.

Mason and Josh made their mark as the 1st champions at this tournament since 2014, and the 1st time CPS wrestling had 2 Champs in the same year.
The Perry tournament is one of the toughest tournaments in the state. Our Zebras battled hard all weekend long!

Students in Mrs. Simpson's Science class used a dichotomous key to identify different types of rocks. A dichotomous key is used for the identification of organisms based on a series of choices between alternative characters.

In Mrs. Blankenship's class, students are starting their unit on argumentative writing. Students participated in a speed debate where they had thirty seconds to argue their side!

Our teachers are connecting with our students with Google Classroom today during our distance learning day. Students are able to log in and work on assignments, as well as communicate with their teachers online.

My name is T.J. Wood. I am a P.E. Teacher at Will Rogers Junior High. I coach baseball and junior high softball. I graduated with my Associates Degree from Crowder College while playing baseball. I graduated from Rogers State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management.
What I love most about CPS is the family environment and the great relationships that I have with fellow teachers and coaches. Before teaching I coached baseball for Claremore and also worked for Oklahoma Natural Gas. I graduated high school from Claremore in 2014.
I really enjoy anything that has to do with sports or being outdoors. I am happily married to my beautiful wife Allie! Go Zebs!
