Flashback Friday: How do you learn about writing essays? You have a COMPLIMENT party! Mrs. Blankenship's English class celebrated the completion of their five paragraph essays by having a “compliment party”. Each student had the opportunity to read essays written by their peers and then leave them a compliment on their work. What a great way to motivate students! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Last week, our TSA students competed in the National TSA Conference. They made the finals out of over 800 teams, 🙌 but we won't know until the end of June where they placed. What a great day! 🎉Congratulations🎉 to Mr. Isenbart and his TSA students! We are proud of you! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

It is the day, 244 years ago, when Congress commemorated Betsy Ross' creation of the Stars & Stripes as our national flag. The flag has looked different throughout those years, of course, 27 variations, actually, as America grew through the colonies to the 50 states represented in the white stars today. #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Instead of a written final, Mrs. Jarrett’s History classes were challenged to create a 3D model and poster on one topic discussed this year. Each student picked one topic, researched their topic, then created a poster with what their 3D model would look like. Students were encouraged to build everything with boxes and paint rather than buy supplies. Every student showed how creative and innovative they are! And they had fun! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

For the last day of school, the 8th grade classes did a POD Olympics Day! The POD's competed against each other in different sporting events- wheelbarrow races, hoop-shoot, three- legged race, and cornhole! The losing POD teachers got a pie in the face! In conjunction with the USDA Seamless Summer Program, CPS Child Nutrition Department is still serving our Grab & Go meals from 10:30A - 12:30P at 3 locations daily for students 18 & under. We will distribute through August 9 on Mondays and Thursdays. Meals are "Grab and Go" with 3 meals distributed on Mondays and 4 meals on Thursdays. To help plan for proper ordering, storage, freshness, and decreased waste, we ask you to complete this order form by Thursday, the week before you pick up your meals. https://forms.gle/JjLt8mhkG2n4PVpn6 #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
