Mrs. Steffey's students participated in a Water Chiller LAB. Students tested different materials for conductivity while modelling a water cooling system. Students are learning about heat transfer in systems.

How do you teach students about the layers of the Earth? With ICE CREAM SUNDAES! 🍨
8th grade Science students investigated the Law of Superposition by making ice cream sundaes. Rocks on earth are in layers. Students experienced first hand the principles used in relative dating by making layers in ice cream sundaes!

Mrs. Smith’s classes are conducting research on a European country of their choosing. The students are learning all sorts of interesting facts!

It’s Bus Safety Week and the CPS Transportation Department is introducing their staff and additional safety service for all of our buses - GPS! This technology has been added to all their buses and is now connected to the Stopfinder App which will allow families to get real-time information concerning the bus their child is on.

~HONORING OUR VETERANS~
Our 6th & 7th grade English classes will be writing letters to active duty servicemen later this month and collecting items to send with the letters. We are partnering with Blue Star Mothers.
Our 8th grade English classes will be sending letters to the veterans at the Claremore Veterans Center and collecting items for them.
The attached list are needed items. We will be doing this until Veterans Day.

Mrs. Rahn’s students are working through the engineering design process of asking a question, brainstorming ideas, designing solutions, building, testing, improving and sharing out solutions.
They are building a shock absorbing system and testing its effectiveness.

Tea anyone?
Today in Mrs. Hamby's class, they had a Boston tea party! The students discussed what they have learned about the 13 colonies, the taxes, and events leading up to the Revolutionary War. They drank tea and had snacks.

Mrs. Rahn’s students took a quick field trip to the Claremore Museum of History to learn a little more about Claremore’s own astronaut Stuart A. Roosa. The MoH opened up early for us so all our classes could see the new exhibit and artifacts on Roosa. Students also visited the second generation Moon Trees, one at the museum and one at Roosa Elementary.

Students in Mrs. Tietz class went outside to do enrichment. They drew the plate boundaries (convergent, divergent and transform) with chalk. They then used shaving cream to act as the mantle and cut up paper towel rolls to act as the tectonic plates. They moved the plates over the mantle to show how the tectonic plates move at convergent, divergent and transform boundaries.
