If you could go to any country you'd like, which one would you choose?
🌎
Students in Mrs. Shilling's Current Events class did a research presentation over interesting countries of their choice. They gathered five sources and used Google Slides to present about the countries and shared the countries demographics: location, population, geography, government, economy, language, and interesting facts they found about it!

Were new substances formed or not? 🧪
Mrs. Tietz's High School Physical Science class has been studying chemical and physical changes. One station has a reaction between baking soda and vinegar that blew up a balloon. One station had a reaction between liver and hydrogen peroxide. It bubbled and got hot. They formed a precipitate with ammonia and copper 2 sulfate. They turned water red, blew some bubbles, ate a cracker, put butane in a baggie and watched the baggie expand.

Delivery day! 🐶🐱
These students helped create a service project to honor December the National Month of "Santa Paws". They created a gift exchange for themselves and invited other classes to join! All gifts were cat and dog related items, so we could donate them to the Claremore Animal Shelter. We went to the animal shelter, got a great tour from Mrs. Jean Hurst, and learned about how the Animal Shelter serves our community and does a great job taking care of the animals and adopting them out to great homes. It was a great day!

JOIN OUR TEAM! Be the first smile our students see in the morning and the last smile they see as they head home. CPS is hiring bus drivers! We are looking for people who love kids, who value an opportunity to positively influence the lives of our students, and see these young people as precious cargo.
🚌District bus drivers work either four or five-hour routes per day. In the past, driving positions have proven to be a good fit for many retirees looking to make extra money while keeping them active in the community. In addition, it is a good income source for college students or parents looking for extra money. Drivers come from diverse backgrounds, but they have one common thread; they enjoy being around and helping the kids.
🚌 If you are interested in becoming a Claremore Public School bus driver, please contact Jennifer Hayes, CPS Transportation Director, for additional details. The job does require a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with school and passenger endorsements. The school district will reimburse these costs and starting pay begins at $15 per hour.

🌋VOLCANOES🌋
6th grade Science classes worked on [[volcano]] projects. Students built models of active volcanoes, labeling major parts of the volcano. Students learned that volcanoes are formed when tectonic plates converge AND that volcanoes are an integral part of the Rock Cycle, since cooling lava forms Igneous rocks!

How do you incorporate an English lesson with kickball?⚽
Mrs. Black's class did a review KICKBALL game over verb moods, active & passive voice, analogies, and gerunds/participle/infinitives to help prepare them for state testing. If they got the review question correct, they got to kick. If they got it wrong, it counted as an out for their team! Can you tell which team won?

In Mrs. Boyd's Native American Club, students made corn husk dolls. Corn husk dolls have been made by Northeastern Native Americans for more than a thousand years, since the beginning of corn agriculture. They would soak the dried corn husks in water to make the dolls for their children to play with while they did their work.
Native American Club meets weekly after school.
