Students in Current Events class took psychologist Taylor Hartman’s Color Code personality assessment. Students made hypothesis of our principals personalities and asked them to take the test to see the results. They celebrated everybody’s differences by marbling paper in the proper personality color ratios. To inform the principals, they marbled paper for them and presented them with crazy gifts! What a fun activity! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Last week in Mrs. Roach‘s art class, they were studying contemporary artists who draw stylized hearts. They came up with some exciting compositions just in time for Valentine’s Day! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

Another #PublicSchoolProud teacher, Mrs. Bacon, wanted to let her fellow teacher (and friend) know how much she is valued. Here's some of what she wrote: "You are one of the most valuable teachers in our building! You are so smart about the foundations of Reading, interventions, GE, and SO many more things. You are so professional, and a perfect example of a person who has a passion for learning, love of school and sports, and a firm advocate of consistency... the list could go on. During this #PublicSchoolProud week we are sharing how much teachers value each other and their teaching abilities. Ms. Phariss wanted Mrs. Stout to know she values her "Pod Partner" not only as a teacher, but as a friend, too. Here's a little of what she wrote: "Thank you so much for all you do for your school. Students in our Current Events classes organized an event to celebrate the “National Day of the Month” This event was National Pretzel Month, National Caramel Month and National Apple Month! We had apples, pretzels, and caramel. And many students tried apple butter on toast for the first time! #CPSZEBRAPRIDE

For PUBLIC SCHOOL PROUD week, we asked our teachers why public education is IMPORTANT to them. Mrs. Naegele says, "I attended fourteen different schools during my childhood and moved so many times that I have lost count. Not all of my childhood was abysmal, but there were many times that we lived in houses with no running water, heat, or electricity and did not know where our next meal would come from. Thankfully, I was blessed to have public school teachers and counselors that saw beyond the dirty little transient kid, and saw me. They challenged me to dream and to be tenacious in my pursuit of my goal to become a teacher. Those teachers and counselors took an interest in me and helped me navigate the education system as well as the college admissions and financial aid process. It is because of them, that I am a teacher now. I believe EVERY child can learn to high levels and deserves the opportunity to follow their dreams. Public education opens that door for EVERY child regardless of their situation. I am beyond thankful that I was given that opportunity and it is my greatest desire that every child be afforded the same." #RedforEd #PublicSchoolProud #CPSZEBRAPRIDE
