Here's another "WOULD YOU RATHER" Wednesday from Mr. Dexter's class.
This Wednesday, the question was - would you rather be trapped in an elevator or a basement?
Would you rather Wednesday gives students two choices and they have to discuss with their partner which they would choose. This gives our students the ability to practice making eye contact and holding a conversation with someone.

If you ever wondered what teachers do during Professional Development Days, here is a snapshot!
Professional development is a way for teachers to expand their knowledge as educators. With better knowledge, educators can develop skills they need to address students' learning abilities.

Would you like to travel to the moon? 🌙
Mrs. Rahn’s students created, launched and redesigned straw rockets on a large moon map after they learned about the moon, its phases and the Apollo Missions that landed there.

Who has the correct answer?
7th Grade Advanced Math students in Ms. Phariss's class are working with a partner to solve two step equations. The activity is called “he said she said” where two people have given an answer- students are trying to figure out who is right and who is incorrect.

Are you ever too old to play with LEGOS?
Students in Mrs. Tietz class had to build something with Legos. They then had to write a detailed procedure on how it was built to pass on to another student. That student was to build the exact same structure based on the procedures.
Do you think they succeeded? Do the structures look the same?

Students in our 8th grade History classes did an activity to get a better understanding of the battle tactics that were used by the British and French armies. Classes were "battling" each other with those being "hit" by paper balls. If they were hit, they were automatically out- or lost the battle!

Mrs. Stout's students participated in a rock-paper-scissors tournament to demonstrate capitalism. Students were given a certain amount of "wealth" (Starbursts!) and were free to compete with their classmates in order to win or lose their wealth. Some students got rich and some lost it all!
This activity simulated a capitalist economy, where the consumers make their own economic decisions with little interference from the government.

In Mrs. Brunjes-Hall's Art classes, students were creating posters for the Stuart Roosa event. They were focusing on the concept of public art and information systems in relation to Graphic Design. Students were encouraged to work creatively with a limited palette and singular font. They all did an excellent job at creating relevant and beautiful signage using the elements of design and predetermined parameters.

Students in Mrs. Bart's Math classes were asked to find all the possible ways to package 48 brownies and 64 cookies so that each bag had the same combination of items. Their activity started with only packaging the brownies, then the cookies, and then the combination which helped them identify factors and eventually lead to the greatest common factor.
Anyway you package them, we would love to have some brownies and cookies! Who is ready for a snack?

How much fun is it to play with slinkys? Students in Mrs. Steffey's class got to do just that!
In 6th Grade science, students experimented with slinkys to model both compression waves and the effect of opposing forces when a slinky is dropped. The slinky pulls up and gravity pulls down simultaneously. The slinky appears to float (in slow motion) before falling to the ground.
